We have all been in a coop game, either commanders or vs AI, and have had fun playing it until suddenly we die to the enemy we never saw coming, our ally. Getting griefed can range from being funny to mildly inconvenient when it happens once but often times if you que up again, since we like to play the game, you will find the same person again and again doing the same thing, ending the game before it even starts. My question is why are we not using some auto suspend or ban features that we see many games using, even star craft 2 custom games have these features where if you are detected attacking a friendly unit too many times it automatically takes an action against you. A few FF incidents is fine but an entire base purged then seeing the same guy in the next lobby already tells you the games over… why bother with a reporting system that rarely if ever takes action that the players will never know about when we can use automatic systems to nip this in the bud and save everyone time and pain. Again miss clicking in a blob is much different from systematically purging buildings, its really not that hard to make especially when its already made. Lets just do it
Also a final thought, even if you think Coop and AI is a joke its literally the stepping stone to get players into starcraft as beginners so this problem has effectively been losing you a substantial player base the entire time its been going on. If a reaper comes from the drones get some zerglings and upgrade right?
Outside of the occasional TK after the mission is won, I’ve only come a cross a small few of outright TKers in 1280ish ascention.
And if I got them on the next queue, I’d Alt-Tab quit on the loading screen, wait 3-5 mins (for them to get matched with someone else), then queue up.
IME (Americas server), regular Brutal games at first, but then Brutal+(1), this has happened very infrequently.
Even then, there’s nobody working on Coop anymore. So it’s not like you can just grab the proverbial janitor.
I’ve never heard of this. I’ve never seen anything to suggest that one mode leads to another…
People play campaign mode because they want to check out the storyline, try out the game play and try out Blizzard’s polish and quality care they put into campaigns.
People play versus for the competition (whether casual or pro).
People play Arcade for the variety of scenarios.
People play Coop to explore that design space, and try out some of those games.
… sure, you have cases where some people start off on campaign and go to Coop (esp. since a lot of material comes from there). Others do some Coop, but then check out the campaigns.
I’ve never really run into any rampant griefing ever. but i have seen the occasional prick in the queue. Just take note of who they are add them to your block list and report their account. if you see the person again just quit out in the loading screen which only wastes their time as the client will stall waiting for you to load in which will never happen. and just wait a minute for them to be in a game. you can also open a whisper channel with them and not send any message to check if they are in a game or not. if its a legitiamte leveled up account they run the risk or it getting banned by doing that but throw aways are probably just going to be low level commander trolls.
does it track xp above 1k ascension?
Two regions: NA (1000) and EU (280).
