COOP commander sales?

I recently got back into sc2 coop with a friend and have been having a blast with brutal+ (last week’s mutation was insane).

Does Blizz ever do any sales/bundles? Just wondering about sales, since I’d be happy to just buy the newer ones all together if the price came down a bit.

Also as a side note, I’m liking the newer maps that require you to destroy enemy bases. A lot of the earlier maps lacked the satisfaction of wiping out the enemy base completely so the new maps are pretty cool… glad to see them still adding content for this mode.

They used to do giveaways on Twitch Prime and other promotions, but they stopped a long while back. I guess they realized they were losing too much money. I missed the Abathur and Fenix giveaways. :frowning: I haven’t seen a single sale, but whenever a new commander is released, they have an EXP stimpack+commander bundle for $10. So if you have a lot of commanders to level up and the free time to make use of a month-long EXP boost, that’s probably worth the money.

Personally, I don’t mind the grind to 15. I enjoy starting out with weaker commanders, since once they’re leveled, there’s no going back from the OP powerhouse they all become.

I’m missing Dehaka to Mengsk, so maybe I’ll go for Mengsk or Horner since I like their versatility. Stettman is an interesting twist on Zerg, but perhaps a bit of a chore to play (at least he’s a bit lacking at level 5 compared to the others). Zera/Tychus are fine, although a bit too distilled. And Dehaka kind of feels too easy. They’re all fun in their own way. Just at 6.25$CAD each, it’s a bit of a leap to get them all at once.

I’m glad they’re adding more maps. I like that the newer maps have more “seek and destroy the enemy bases” feels to them. One of my main complaints before I quit was that maps felt too objective based, when sometimes I just want that good ol’ fashion starcraft feel of rolling through an opponent’s base.

I recently started doing the brutal + echelons, and while the “random mutation” thing is fine, I was hoping higher difficulties would instead throw more enemies at you, and stronger enemies… perhaps more frequent attacks. Mutations are cool, but I like brutal for the more vanilla experience.

Yeah, a lot of people want a higher standard difficulty and have for a while. And I’m with you on the level 15 thing, but the stim pack is great for the level 90 mastery grind.

Someone mentioned a proposal to sell racial bundle (Terran/Zerg/Protoss). That would be nice, but would be problematic for buyers that may have all of one of race commanders. For example, A player has all Terran commanders but don’t have most of zerg commanders.

They used to have sales and promos. The ones I recall off the top of my head include (but not limited to):
–Nova and Stukov on sale for $2.50 each
–Stukov was included with the Sc: Remastered game
–Nova was free with the purchase of her campaign
–Swann, Zagara, Vorazun, and Karax free with the purchase of HotS and/or LotV campaigns?
–Twitch Prime gave out Abathur, Swann, and Vorazun

I purchased the COs a la carte. If I check out the prices for campaigns, they would give me a slight discount to account for the fact that I already have those COs that they belong to, so they could always apply that here as well.

I bought SC: Remastered on another account well before I knew co-op even existed. :frowning: Sucked when I found out. What’s worse is I don’t even play SC: Remastered at all.

Was this a limited time thing? I purchased the Nova campaign when it first came out. Is there a way I can redeem Nova?

All we need right now is a prestige level up sales.

My proposal is, change prestige level into prestige points which you can spend on any prestige you want and have those points on sale.
Each Prestige Points = $0.99?

Recently, for a while, Han&Horner were at half-price, so the concept existed and still exist.
Not sure if OP is still there and wondering after 4 months though :stuck_out_tongue:

It was? When was it?

Oh just the 10th anniversary.

Honestly if you look at it as a full collection, 18 commanders with 3 free means 15 commanders potential to buy. 4 of which come from owning LOTV so that comes to 11 for 55$ and then the 4 commanders sometimes going in a bundle for anywhere from 20-40$. So it can be a bit of a hurdle to buy them all, but with how grindy and tedious prestieging is on live it’s hard to focus on more than a handful. (I know i bought the lotv collection with the 10th anniversary to try the campaigns and P2 karax, but i haven’t even gotten to Swann or Vorazun yet.

Actually all things considered, It can be a bit up front to buy them all at once, but if you just buy a few or a few every month it can really be not that bad. You can play wow and go sell a wow token, try some commanders to lvl 5, find the one you like best, and then buy 1-3s commanders you might like with maybe a power pick or two like Zeratul,/tychus/Abathur or dehaka, and then maybe a fun commander or two you might enjoy messing around with that resonates with you. F2P commanders only with just Raynor/artanis/kerrigan is nice and even better with prestieges, but even just 5-15$ in and you can get a great experience out of coop. Maybe they could try something like Tf2 and do like some silly stuff like Nexus/Hive hats or like crates to open just some silly cosmetics with a 1% chance in getting some unusual sparkling christmas hat with some silly trading system or cross game items or like custom fancy textures for commanders like idk. Jungle Camo Zeratul, Dirty mudstain Tychus etc or gilded golden trims skins if they ever went the cosmetic routes or enabling versus skins in coop. who knows. I mean identification is one thing, but they really could just put a hover over option to immediately tell you what commander there is, and do something about Karax and Artanis;s nexuses on team skins appearing basically almost identical until gateway.

Not sure how that was supposed to work (if automatic, or you needed to do something to redeem). Perhaps contact Blizzard about this? All I know is, things changed when things when Sc2 went free-to-play, and this is how they are now…
