Compare new thor to infested terran

Thor: 25 AA damage, 0.9 weapon speed
Infested Terran: 24 damage, 0.95 weapon speed

But blizzard think spending 50 energy is a huge nerf, even greater than spending 300/200 and 6 supplies. LMFAO. Does blizzard not know why everyone hates winfestors and why their WCS view rate has been dropping like crazy?

Oh by the way we directly nerfed raven again to make no one builds them ever again not like how we change winfestors because reason.

It is a big nerf. Doesn’t go far enough imo though.

Remember that those 300/200 +6 soup now go to Zerg as they have free neural.

Error found. It is called “Infested Thor”.

can you also compare hp? or how long these units live?

Yes Blizzard developers love their broken &#@ Infestors. Their stupidity is out of the roof.

Raven and BC? Nerfed

Carriers and HT?. Nerfed

Broodlord and Infestor?. “This is the late game experience we want to see”.

I get the point of the IT redesign they are doing(less but stronger like the Auto-turret), but the first impressions players get from reading the patch notes is “why are the buffing the IT so much after increasing the energy cost?!”.

In fact, the raven turrets are much stronger although they last less

So you compare a mode of the thor aim to fight vs massive, but didn’t include the +10 vs massive ? Yeah it’s 35 dmg vs massive.

You also to forget to say thors have a DPS of 65.9 (+6.59) vs ground ?

You also forget to talk about the mode with a 22.4 DPS vs light with a splash ?

You haven’t talk about the 400 HP too ? The ability to be repaired ?

That’s probably because they don’t know how the stats of the unit actually work.

If you assume that the same amount of energy is spent in both cases, then the new Infested Terran are not stronger than the old ones until the point where collision size, speed, and range start to limit DPS density.

Furthermore, massive Infested Terran swarms are a larger problem for Protoss in particular than any other race, and the newer Infested Terran will be easier for Protoss to clean up than the old ones for the following reasons:

  1. Their egg form has roughly the same amount of health, so it is easier to kill an equal-energy swarm of Infested Terran before they pop.
  2. Storm and Disruptors still one-shot Infested Terran, assuming that they start before the Infested Terran pop or when the Infested Terran aren’t able to move enough to get out of Storm range.

No, in no situation is it stronger. Enter in arcade and search for “balance unit tester” There you can prove how the new infestor is weaker in all situations even in those that would be more favorable.

"We’re going to nerf the Infestor by giving Infested Terrans the same strength as before but into fewer numbers to make their power more condensed. It makes them weaker to AoE but overall better when they’re spawned everywhere your AoE isn’t.

We also notice that people love it when they build a massive army of Thors, Carriers and whatever else so we’re going to let Infestors start with Neural so they can turn your army against you with no cost."

This a pro gamer move, boys. Nerf infestor by making it better in the roles it was abused in.

In all seriousness though, going to be watching this one closely because it doesn’t look like much of a nerf. The -1 range on Neural is one thing but doesn’t change that it being free allows infestors to turn your expensive army against itself.

Great comparison.
Want to compare broodlord dps to raven auto turret dps? We can also laugh about numbers without context!

Ravens cost more supply and resources i believe, higher build time and they are nearly impossible to mass up. I dont think an army of 30 ravens has much staying power. Infestors have more to offer in terms of being massed.

Raven = 100/200/2

Infestor = 100/150/2

If turrets can be casted from 8 range then I agree. But no.

Infested terran can be killed before emerge from their eggs the units are different

As a terran i am ashamed to say that i thought raven was 3 supply.

Simultaneous buff and nerf is a balance approach severely lacking in intestinal fortitude.

Adepts - buffed and nerfed in same patch

Zealots - same

Infestors - same

Liberators - same

Lurkers - same

Adding upgrades to the game and see what happens is like the doc fiddling with the bandaid on your stubbed toe while you bleed out from your severed arm stump. Bl infestor viper is one of the many huge elephants in the room blizz is refusing to address. Same with protoss reliance on death ball or allin play. Same with the lack of a viable terran late game, or at any rate the ability to survive the transition to one. Same with zerg comps being extremely one dimensional and boring to watch throughout the midgame.
