Commander Stetmann

I took a break from Co-op and came back to play with some friends. I prestiged leveled up Stetmann and have some feedback in case there is a future balance patch in the future.

  • Hatcheries should be structures that Garry can use to teleport to.

  • Overlord and Overseers should be able to spread Egonergy fields much like they spread creep and pylons spread energy fields on the battlefield in all other game modes. (To my understanding Stetmann’s units and buildings try to incorporate the best from all three races, I think this is a big missed opportunity since Overlords are not used for anything other than being mobile supply. Give them other uses.

  • Garry: Mobility is king in this game. I suggest that Garry gain the natural ability to recharge all his abilities faster when he kills units, thus allowing him to keep up with his fellow commanders to relocate and kill around the battlefield faster than using Statellites Accelerator speed which is fast, but not even close to being fast enough as what other heroes have in their kits to deal with imminent threats.

Right now, Stetmann feels like a slow starting, momentum-based hero that offers great bonuses to his allies. His late game is super fun, but for the most part, by the time you have his army maxed out and fully upgraded and the entire field covered in statellites the game is over. It makes me feel like I worked hard to build this army and I have very little time to have fun using it because my speed running ally already helped clear the map while I was expanding, upgrading and building early game.

Thank you for reading my message, even though I am not the best at this game, I am grateful to be allowed to share my thoughts here. Thank you guys for being here today, have a great day!

I’m guessing you’re already aware, but will point out just in case (and for those who aren’t familiar with how Stetmann works)…

He has the Recall ability. 2 charges of this when he upgrades to Super Gary. And this is on lower cd (cool down) if you selected that Mastery)

Overseers are good for Stetmann if he hasn’t unlocked the Super Gary talent (lv5), and for his P1 where Super Gary isn’t available due to that prestige’s (-).

For Overlords, all, non Primal Zerg COs treat them like mobile (air) supply.
I think he’s got plenty of tri-race incorporation…
–Stetfields and Stetalites like Protoss power fields. Recall to a specific Stetalite
–MCBL having “interceptors” and “Yamato Cannon”
–Buildings can be built anywhere but burn down.
–etc.

Overall, this feels like too much, in terms of game play, and to a person’s computer

So the mastery isn’t enough?

FWIW, the only way to keep up with speed runners is to speed run yourself. That’s any ally problem, not a CO problem.

He does have some good early game contributions like Gary himself, and then Super Gary should be able to make significant contributions vs. early waves and towards early objectives.

Also, you shouldn’t strive to have everything maxed out. If it’s a short missions like RtK, L&L, and VT, those missions end around 20 minutes, which is NOT enough time to do any long term game stuff. L&L can end as soon as 15 minutes for myself (and that emphasis is important b/c I’m not THAT great, nor a speed runner, but I can still finish that map that quickly with the right allies and right CO + options).

Even on long missions like OE, MO, and TotP… I’d question spending resources towards certain level upgrades vs. just getting more units and towers.
