Personally I feel DuGalle is more suited to be a commander than Hanson. He historically is a great tactician and strategist, has a history of controlling Zerg and could have an army with great potential.
Hanson’s connection to Zerg is being attacked and infested by them, did she even find a cure for it? She is not a fighter, not even as much as some of the least fighty commanders like Karax or Stettman are.
They can always come up with different flavors of them. They’ve already done so for many of the other units.
Dunno… maybe hers are much more efficient/effective at healing, can have limited shielding (cross between Protoss permanent shield and Sci-Vess Def. Matrix), hp and/or armor buffs for friendly units.
My best take on Hanson would be similar… a mix of Terran and Zerg units. Another mechanic was she, or her units could transform back and forth between Terran and Infested Terran. The alt timeline shows she and her colonists got infested, but with noncanon, she could’ve found a way not only to cure the infestation, but control and weaponize it.
At this point Terrans control Zerg more than Zerg infest Terrans. Kerrigan, Stukov, Stetmann, Mengsk (kinda). I just want a simple and regular army Terran commander like Raynor.
Here’s an old concept video for her. I really like the idea of building colonist buildings, and having civilian transports rigged with guns to fight for you.
The military units I could take or leave without much care. Especially the vikings being able to attack ground and air, which conpletely defeats the purpose of being able to transform into a ground/air.
Cerberus Zerg are neat, but I don’t think they’ll give them to someone other than Mengsk. If they did, I would rather some one else got them. Maybe Dugalle from the UED.
I would love for her to not have the classic barrack, factory starport and CC structure that other Terrans use. Instead, Hanson would have colonist huts, bio domes, science facilities and all other kind of civilian structures. I would like if her base feels like a mini civilian city like in what the Media Blitz map look like. As for her army, I would see a mix between Cyber Zerg and vehicule base army (colony ship, which is a diffrent version of the Hercules, the personal armored carrier, so the vehicule in the Wol campaign, in the evacuation mission and many others like that). She would the opposite philosophy of Mengsk, where human life is more important then weapons. As such, her vehicules would be quite cheap, meanwhile her bio army would be expensive. As for her Zerg army, they could incorporate it, but Mengsk already have those cyber Zerg, so the chance of them reappearing is low. Infested could see a come back with her though.
Handson should have militarized transport with armed civilians (like troopers). They should also have the option to use different kind of weapons( flame trover, long range gun, shot range AOE gun, anty air rockets). Handson should also have some Marines called (the remaining force)She had Marines in the campaign. Those Marines shold be tough, because of the harsh environment there(They shold have different survival and tactical skills.) Examples (detection, movement speed, healing steam pack)
Vikings are generally crummy outside of AA, and while I’m worried they’d stay airborne all the time with all-targeting it could be fun to dodge attacks with them.
I love the idea of using colonist buildings and landed Hercules Transports for her base, but I’m worried that the military units seem too conventional while Molotov civilians seems out of place even in co-op.
I think going all-in on the colonist idea would be better if it can be done well, but I wonder if Cerberus Zerg supporting the militia would make sense as a blend of both ideas.
Maybe she gets structures spawning free charges of Cerberus Zerg to use as cannon fodder for her other forces?
It feels like the cybernetics would need to give them a flashy advantage in part of their role, like Stetmann’s Hydralisk rockets.
Maybe Zerglings that leap onto targets with jump jets alongside jumping cliffs, with an explosion when they die due to the fuel?
Predators are cool for Hanson though: it’s easy to imagine them being made to counter another infestation outbreak if things came to that.
