Co-Op Mutation #429: Wheel of Misfortune

The Void itself bleeds into reality, warping the very fabric of space and time. Battlefield Conditions change at random and never stay stable for long. All bets are off, commanders. Be ready for anything.

Chaos Studios - Mutators are chosen at random and periodically cycle throughout the mission.

Notes:

  • There are three mutations at the start of the map. Mousing over them in the lower right corner is helpful.
  • Starting at 5:00, every 90 seconds, a mutator is switched off, and a new one takes its place.
  • If you get a bad set of mutators, you can sometimes just wait it out in the base until the mutator cycles out.
  • Full clearing removes the threats of Poopagators, Void Reanimators, Outbreak, and Photon Overload. It is easier on this map than on most maps.

Almost cleared this one on the first try. We were doing well enough until the Archangel spawn, which my ally decided to go for and I decided to skip. I ended up massing more forces and waiting until the base was down to 900 HP but he still hadn’t shown up. I decided to start the final push without him because I was worried about the time limit. When he finally showed up all he had left was 2 carriers, a couple infantry, and Fenix, which made little difference. Still got it down to the last Void thrasher but just couldn’t quite finish it.

The next several tries I didn’t get close. Propogators on one, We Move Unseen just before the first wave arrived on another, got frustrated and just played badly on another, etc. Finally got it when an allied Zeratul basically solo’d the whole map by himself.

Is this Void Thrashing? OP says Miner Evac.
About to try this myself.

Yea. Its void trashing.

Unlike most mutations, Wheel cycles through some of the maps.

Just need to find a previous Void Thrashing version and grab its OP.

I just had a game where we winning. But suddenly with speed freaks and polarity already on. Got propagators. Needless to say it was game over. I love this though. This is one of those mutators I wish we could do always. The randomness means every game is so different.

Had a couple games that felt easy and a couple that felt very hard, it’s really just that… random. xD

I accidently listed the wrong location fyi. Void Thrashing not. Miner Evac. Loving this mutation. Though Void thrashing is not my favorite cause of how small it is.
