3rd haha. it’s been 3 years.
#2, #71 and this week.
this week 1st clear Mengsk P3+Tychus P2
Mutation (First Strike) play list.
this’ll be fun with Abathur’s P2, lol.
This is the 2nd mutation, ever also.
The mutations will be on repeat until further notice, I believe.
Doesn’t Amon’s SCV’s rebuild the ghost Academies?
On most maps yes. On CoA, I don’t think so.
Also, fun fact about this mutation: when it first went live all those years ago, the laser drill didn’t respawn. Just drop a big topbar on it and it would never bother you again.
What does that mean? The enemy can use Fenix/Talandar army?
The guy that fights Ji’Nara is called Amon’s champion. It shouldn’t be in plural though, but the meaning is simple - while the drill is active, all your and allied units supporting Ji’Nara will be under drill attack.

“Champions” refer to Amon’s and J’nara. The plural form is correct.
Do it with Kerrigan. Very annoying drill. I was so pissed i demolished that base and pulled my entire mineral line to build spine camp for it.
End with 6 nydus and 20 crawlers.
Enemy are broodwar zerg.
Hydra build is quite effective with this.
Though I still hate that damn drill. It snipe my drone when i send it to build hat 3 times.
First strike
#2, #71 and #237
It’s already third strike.

It means Amon gets first strike.
Ji’nara probably don’t provide vision to the enemy (though being right next to Amon Champion make it almost irrelevant).
Replacing “The fighting Champions” by “Amon’s Champion” would probably be more correct and more obvious.

That’s 3 first strikes, I say he is cheating

I am wondering if Mengsk could cheese the drill with ESO’s…Is there a safe spot early for ESO cheese? I was thinking where the bonuses spawn might be good. intend to experiment with that on regular brutal before trying mutation
Cleared it with P1 Zagara (me) and P3 Stukov ally.
Not difficult at hell. The power of prestige really made this mutation look like a joke.
Yeah, I can well imagine Zagara and Stukov would laugh at this mutation.
“So… you’re going to cut the life expectancy of one of my six billion units from 10 seconds to 9 seconds? I would protest this monstrous injustice, but I’m too busy churning out another six billion units.”

Zagara P1 ftw. Also did a custom as Vorazun P1 with max DP range. Placing the DP’s farther away so that you and ally can stand near the edge of DP cloak puts you close enough to push Ji’nara, without Amon’s champion giving vision for the laser.
Clear the 1st base fully before taking your expo. (Regular brutal doesn’t require that.) And if you get terran, you may need to clear the 2nd base too. As well as the high-ground south of the left/bottom expo.
Imho, not worth taking out the drill unless you can also camp it with units/static def. It takes less effort to clear out enemies near you so the drill can’t target.
First attempt: Played as P3 Alarak, got a Stukov ally. I went for the drill with the Mothership and a few Destroyers, while Alarak went for the expansion. Cost quite a bit of health of the Mothership, but the drill went down. However, like 20 Hydralisks spawned near the drill almost directly afterwards and annihilated them, since the shields were down. It also really surprised me and they were shooting out of the fog of war, thanks to the mutators. It was a big oof.
Second attempt: Played as P0 Artanis and got a Stukov ally. Well, it was a huge difference. I guess that’s every Stukov’s wet dream to have an Artanis ally. We even had a Protoss Robo comp with Disruptors and Reavers. However, I had 30/30 in Shield Overcharge mastery, resulting in +90% duration and absorb. So, both his Infested and my army could have more fun and were much more durable. We couldn’t do the first bonus, but we went for the 2nd one.
I used Solar Bombardment on two drills, I had a Phoenix nearby. Two other Bombardments were for the 2nd and 3rd Hybrid assault. I used a mix of Dragoons/Immortals/Zealots/Tempests.
Sometimes, my lower expo got sniped by the laser. Lost a few Probes. shrug
After my initial desaster as Alarak, I’m glad how it played out in my 2nd game.
This week was quite the annoyance. Got it on the third go with me carrying very hard with Vorazun. The amount of sight range that Amon gets is ridiculous… Your expansion is never safe from the drill.
That’s for sure! Maybe that’s why we get prestiges, so we can cheat too.
Probably better to drop some troopers and use Zerg calldown or Nukes. Then build some bunkers around it.

I went Stetmann P2. The stetellites help a bit vs the decreased vision. I was also able to rush the laser drill with Super Gary. You can gary zone and move around the outer edge of the map to bypass enemies on the way to the laser drill. You can then drop some stetellites near the drill and teleport out. After making lurkers, you can tele the lurkers in and then use gary zone again to get super gary out.
