War is coming, with all its glory, and all its horror. After ten long years, the fight rages on. This time, you get a little help in pushing back the enemy.
Fireworks - Enemies launch a dazzling fireworks display upon death, dealing damage to your nearby units. Lucky Envelopes - Festive envelopes containing resource pickups are dropped at random throughout the map. Gift Exchange - Gifts are periodically deployed around the map. If you don’t claim them, Amon will!
I remember that day. After installation, the first thing I did was open the mailbox to get the Mini Thor pet in WoW. You’d think I would be straight into the campaign but nope; had to run errands after that.
Wrt “Everything is Free” - it’s good to be prepared for this one: taking an example from one of CtG’s older vids: Immediately queue up the construction of your most expensive structures (like Fleet Beacon, Fusion Core, Nydus Network, etc.) and units; and once the 10 seconds is over, cancel them. The cost of these then goes back to you.
The key is to queue up a lot of these, unlike how you normally should be playing. The build doesn’t need to start, just have the order queued, since that’s when it would cost you resources. For Protoss, make sure you have pylons spread out to have building space. Zerg CO’s who need creep for structs should pre-spread creep.
My God, not brutal+? for me it’s brutal + 3… or maybe I am just bad lucky? I keep getting gifts spawned at locations, where I can’t even push at the beginning (like top right corner of the map or the location of third void shards) and Amon’s getting a freaking kill bot (30 units) or he get like 30 or so banelings or 30 scourges vs my poor mass tempests… for real:)
We couldn’t get to any of the gifts early on due to them being all way behind enemy lines. So, we had to spend the time fighting Amon’s gifts off and never had time for the shards.
Do not go mass Tempest here, unless you are ready to see them die (either to Scourges or to random fireworks because something got too close to them).
This mutation has enough resources to keep warping Zealots and Dragoons until they kill everything that moves. And if you still have gas left after that (which isn’t a problem here at all), you can carpet-Storm entire attack waves.
Beat it first try as Artanis and Zeratul as my ally.
Look like some people are struggling with this one because of firework damage and Gifts bad placement. The key is to keep picking up Lucky Envelopes. With resources pouring in like crazy, build ALOT of production facilities. More production facilities mean faster remax.
It’s okay to lose your army. My army went down to 90ish from 200 but remax quickly in less than a minutes. I have ton of resources and Warpgate lol.
Got a replay of your Mengsk match? I think you’ve got to be lucky on presents and enemy comp to do that. First present to Amon with banes wave puts a real dent in early gameplay. I’d say 50% of my presents were achieveable.
