Co-Op Mutation #193: By Fire Be Purged

Flames engulf the battlefield both from above and below. Every inch outside your base is a maze of fire that must be trudged in order to destroy the enemy trains.

Going Nuclear - Nukes are launched at random throughout the map.
Lava Burst - Lava periodically burst from the ground at random locations and deals damage to player air and ground units.
Scorched Earth - Enemy units set the terrain on fire upon death.

Other Notes:

  • The warning spot for Going Nuclear is the large targeting area. However, you only have 5 Blizzard seconds of warning before the nuke hits.
  • The Lava Bursts appear all around your bases, but not in the mineral line. It is probably wise to build your expansion on-location.
  • Lava Bursts hit air units, like in Vermillion Problem.
  • The size of scorched earth depends on the supply count of the unit killed.
  • Air units are immune to Scorched Earth.

Pretty easy with Dehaka’s mass Guardians spamming from a safe spot near the main base.

Had a Swann partner so plenty of vespene for Guardians.

#193 Mutation By Fire Be Purged play list…

The Blood Mage referencing is strong with this one. :3

It’s a direct quote from Ragnaros in WoW.

What happened to the ranking for every week mutations?

Yes but it was first quoted by Kael’thas in Warcraft 3.

Oh well, I played through it but I couldn’t remember that. I stand corrected.

Anyway, beat the mutation as Mengsk. I’ve seen worse in Brutal+1. For example, Aggressive Deployment with Suicide Zergs. This mutation was easy compared to that.

That one is done by a different guy, HunterAFI.

Tychus totally owns this week easily. :eggplant: :eggplant: :eggplant: :arrow_right: :arrow_right: :arrow_right: :peach: :peach: :peach:

Having a small amount of units help to dodge all the garbage coming your way and Crooked Sam is amazing as always against objectives.

Use Nikara instead of Rattlesnake because his revitalizers are getting destroyed too often.

My Karax partner turned out to be pretty useless even on the defense so we missed one train, but otherwise it’s a very easy mutation. :muscle: :muscle: :muscle:

Guy who spawns on top gets his mineral line nuked, fun game.

There is a bug, if you choose Brutal+ in Weekly Mutation difficulty, it will give you random 2-3 other mutations, very often easier but for full 240k :see_no_evil::rofl:

What, you expect them to actually fix a bug they added a month ago?

Beat it with Artanis’s mass dragoon/Immortal and Tychus ally.

Guardian Shell + Tychus’s healing = Very safe.

Beat with Dehaka / Mutas with a raynor bio ally. We both played well. Went mutas because it was terran bc / liberator / reaper comp. He did more train damage (80k to my 55K), but I killed 450 units to his 200 or so. Nice even game all around.

Got it first try. I didn’t even noticed my ally left before the last train.

I went Artanis robo vs protoss ground because I watched the CtG video. Don’t do that unless your ally is providing lots of heals or nydus escape routes. Second game I went tempest vs zerg ground and everything was fine. Disintegrate is wonderful.

Well they fixed the friggin train bug

This has Artanis written ALL over it.

In the same patch as they created the brutal+ mutation bug.
