Co-Op Mutation #185: Never Say Die

The terrazine mists energize the Enemy’s forces, and increase their vitality. They get up and resume fighting even when struck with a mortal blow, and damage they deal to your forces emboldens them further. Throw everything you have at them to ensure they stay down.

Barrier - Enemy units gain a temporary shield upon the first time they take damage.
Just Die! - Enemy units are automatically revived upon death.
Life Leech - Enemy units steal life or shields whenever they do damage.

Notes:

  • This mutation is a rerun of week 141: Temple of Rebirth
  • Just Die! revives enemies after their death animation. They respawn with full health AND full energy and cooldowns.
  • The first kill does not yield biomass nor essence.
  • Barrier gives a 100 health shield to units that don’t get killed in 1 hit.
  • A high damage output is important to make sure life leech won’t keep the enemy constantly fed on your units.
  • Mind controlling units will make them lose all their mutator buffs.

How is it a rerun if its on a different map

Lol ooooh.

popcorn popping in the background

Had a lucky roll of the dice here: Zerg swarm host and vipers -.-. Still managed to pull it off but had to forego bonuses cause it took 4ever to clear stuff lol

amon… very hard. haha…

#185 Mutation Never Say Die play list…

Hmm…Probably going Abathur with this one. Lots of guardians if ground based, lots of devourers if air based. He can outlast any army.

Well at least this one sounds like its gonna be fun, too bad its on Mist of Opportunities its such an easy map.

This mutator combo looks right at home as a Brutal+ type; normal gameplay with an emphasis on DPS check.

I really prefer this kind of enemy buff mutations instead of annoying handicaps (Afraid of the Dark, Short-Sighted, Polarity)

Zerg swarmy is arguably one of the easiest comp here since the units are low-health and you can splash them to oblivion with many commanders. Playing Kerrigan mass ultralisks against ground comp is a good way to troll Amon with reviving units.

Ain’t Spidermines the best against ground comps in this mutation? They can one-hit kill almost anything, thus forgo 2 out of 3 mutators.

Did it on Kerrigan with a really good Fenix against Reavers. I feel sorry for those Reaver pilots (drivers?) being permastunned.

Reavers are robotic manufacturing plants doubling as mobile artillery, so there’s no pilot to speak of

Beat it a couple of times using Zeratul/Swann and Vorazun/Kerrigan

Vorazun’s crowd control abilities are very handy. DT and Corsair with black holes just wreck even the strongest compositions.

Will somebody please think of the makers!?"

Went in with Zeratul and a Tychus partner, was matched up against Protoss Armada: Siege of Storms. Lots of Phoenixes and Oracles, with only Tempests at the very end with the final enemy spawn. No problems, aside from the Oracles focusing on Zeratul and watching him drop dead close to a dozen times.

tychus here glad to see that Blaze is usefull vs mass light units this game ^

CTG You missed a good one. Coulda just had the description just be “Die”.

this was a very nice mutation. didi it as swann with an abathur partner. putting mass turrets at the spawn points was doing good work.

Beat it with Tychus w/ a Vorazun vs Mech Terran

Tychus, Sirius, Rattlesnake, Cannonball, Sam.

DT/Corsair

As it turns out, being able to chain-CC the enemy into oblivion negates all their lifesteal and lets you just whale on them until they finally fell over.
