Co-op as a whole

Overall, I believe the current co-op is the best it’s ever been. Commanders feel powerful and unique but still require effort to achieve victory, with replay-ability at an all time high. The recent changes and readjustments are keeping the game fun but still challenging. Minus Karax I am happy with the direction the devs are taking the game.

And I’d like to agree with that, we have an excellent power level for the commanders, and there’s more than enough levels of difficulty to enable a challenge for those competent enough. Monk and crew are certainly putting in the effort to get the mode into an excellent position.

I agree. The game is very fun and enjoyable. Some commanders still need some buffs (cough Karax cough) and there are some mutators that could be tweaked to make them more fun to play, but overall coop does feel good.

And Alarak need to rework from beginning…

Devs really need to empower Destroyers to be more powerful than Kerrigan’s Mutalisks.
They just tickle people

Last patch really made his mech more enjoyable though

Brutal+ could use some tweaks, and I’d love to see Brutal+2-3 open for open matchmaking.

But otherwise, I’ve been satisfied with the state of the CO’s for a while outside of some nitpicks. The nerfs to Zeratul were the biggest thing I wanted and the devs obliged. Been content mostly since then.

some things could use some tweaking

for mengi the blackhammer thor is a strange piece of a unit.

if you need to deal dps vs ground, you go for multiple vet 3 marauders, with 525+300, healable/regen once per minute, with peak dps at 70/140, with propaganda up to some 152 antiarmor dps.

Blackhammer doesnt have its antiground weapon visible, the same problem it shares with Pride of Augustgrad battlecruiser, that doesnt show the antiground weapon.

Blackhammer does no aoe damage unlike vet 2 aegis marauders.
It gets up to 1050 hp (vs aegis 825) costs 8 supply vs aegis marauder 4.

Also, mengi propaganda range exceeds sight range of deployed imperial witness. I think radius of PR and sight could match (?)

blackhammer doesnt really shine anywhere, its 3 armor aura has so short of a radius it basically doesnt do anything.

The AA overwatch … wat ? It probably might exceed its normal range, which is nice. but considering that you cant shoot at ground, only at air targets, something like the ultra heavy gun for the liberator, it is completely lackluster. You are turning off antiground, you are turning off antiair in 10 range, shoot a bit further in a very small radius and the dps of the overwatch is hasically nothing special.

I mean, if you could use it in skirmish vs vipers that you see approaching, that would have been nice. But coop has no need for such a weak overwatch unit.

Liberator is a much cheaper unit, when it does overwatch, you better not go in that zone, because up to 90 damage per 1,6 seconds is going to hit someone.

Blackhammer can attack air targets already, so it really needs to give something. Rocket troopers have 10-11 range vs air already and from bunkers 12 range. Why would anybody want this blackhammer. Vs fully upgraded battlecruisers you need 18 fully upgraded rocket trooper salvos. That is 6 guys from a bunker shooting 3 times.

Rocket guys are in general better, not great vs light air, but light air has low hp anyway.

Mengsk viking, well, nice survivability after vet. Nice anti-massive bonus. It seems it gets propaganda fire rate bonus and probably +1 range that is reserved for ground units. If you want long range, then use medivac with deployed siege tank, that has huge aoe and stun, vs armor bonus in air. But still, even this is a waste, when rocket troopers will in most situations outshine the tank in the air as well.

mengsk bunker cant be turned off and corsair web seemed to have no effect on the rocket troopers inside the bunkers either.

as mengi, you have great and plentiful AA options. great general purpose antiground in aegis guards.

some of those options cost no gas, unlike the 375 base gas cost viking. Vs armor, cheaper, more survivable, aoe-dealing-slowing marauders are so much better and healable. Blackhammer aura being so small, the unit doesnt outshine the aegis guard vs ground targets, vs air, rocket troopers with say augustgrad 1 range bonus …

augustgrad yamato at vet 3 is quite insane. Compare that one vet 3 with vet 3 of blackhammer. Better, faster-firing rockets ? But those do negligible damage that a few rocket troopers will outdo. It has no similar impact compared to a liberator overwatch. You wont be spamming blackhammers unless with swann. But you will still have better AA options. Augustgrads are better overall.

I think blackhammer, if its skill is not changedm should shoot some very heavy gun like the liberator, but at the air. Its basic missiles already do splash against light units. It feels redundant.
