I know this is gonna be hard to grasp for zerg fanboys, but Clem honestly completely outplayed serral. Clem played some of the best starcraft2 of all time and overcame a pretty huge balance gap between zerg and terran currently.
Serral isnt as good as he used to be, the victory was well deserved for terran.

Serral plays Zerg on hard mode (LMB) when every other Zerg is using Viper lurker for ease of use. I think Solar has had the best ZvT so far in this tournament. Too bad he got Nuked from orbit.

No single race is dominating IEM Katowice. The final 8 players are 3 Terran 3 Zerg and 2 Protoss.
The days of 5/8 of the spots being Zerg, thatās racial domination. We havenāt seen that since 2019.

Apparently you didnāt see Serral completely steamroll innovation, TIME, Special, and Bunny. If you think Clem has better TvZ than all three of these combined, especially Innovation, Iād say youāre crazy. Foreign terrans have been historically much weaker than Koreans and Clem was a garden variety foreign terran.
Theyāve successfully nerfed Zerg to where even the GOAT canāt win anymore. Lmao. RIP sc2. Oh well there are plenty of good games out there that donāt involve wanton balance bias from the design team.
Solar had far tougher opponents in TY, Maru, Clem and Byun. Special is an old man, TIME throws won games by not dropping the far reaching expansions of Zerg. Inno historically is on the other 4s level yeah, but heās not been exactly the peak of terran lately.
I donāt consider Ty, Clem or Byun to be near Innovation or Maru. Iāve seen Innovation completely wreck each of them so freaking hard in TvT it is burned into my brain.
Watching Byun lose 30+ marines to kill some rocks gives me PTSD to this day.

Serral is the same, Zerg got nerfed (creep, queen, baneling, infestor, broodlord). He is the only foreign to win the global finals, have some respect you envious kids.
Personally I donāt like the design of the matchup. Zerg trades poorly 10K resources just to stay even routinely in high level games.
Terran players got too use to tankivacā¦ pushing there was fine if your tanks were zoning against what Inno did with his own marines.
Inno would be landing tanks on the high-ground and kill 60 marines instead of 30.
Clem did nothing special that series. The creep and baneling nerfs have given Terran an insanely easy time in the match up. No need to multitask with drops or do anything. Just deny creep and win.
Blizzard specifically targeted Serral with nerfs and people act like he somehow got worse lol.

Just look the Serral face he was so worried since the first two games, Clem was so persistent and constant, and gave him no chance to climb tech tree to Ultralisks or Brood Lords, in addition to Romanticide and Gold Pillars are maps to favor the Zerg game and Serral did pretty well Specially in Romanticide when he just DENY the Widow Mine Gameplay.
Clem was more focused and precise, his Marine split donĀ“t ask for anything to the Koreans, Clem played like the greats and they know it ā¦
Well deserved victory indeed, Clem is definitely one of the top terrans in the world now, Iāve been watching his games thru out the year and he has amazed me several times, Iām rooting for him to go all the way to the final.
The thing is Clem IS better than all of those players, yes even innovation. You donāt know anything about Starcraft if you canāt see why he is better than those players.
Also Zerg is doing just fine, Rogue, Dark and Reynor are all in the Ro8, stop whinning.
Has he won a hoard of tournaments against the worldās best opponents during multiple versions of the game? Oh wait heās got no tournament wins except small cups and he only does well when Zerg is utter trash.
Innovation on the other hand has been winning the hardest tournaments on Earth for almost a decade and he still won tournaments when other races were strong. He beat Serral at WESG long before the brood/queen nerfs and thor buffs etc.
Iām sorry to say it but clem is looking like YAPT (Yet another patch terran) like byun. He wasnāt able to win a SINGLE big tournament until recently but he is now able to bop the GOAT of sc2? Give me a break.
