Regard to latest patch, Protoss commanders can finally boost their own structures under construction. It seems saved Vorazon and maybe Alarak.
I tried several warpgate first builds and rush tech quite efficiently. But still I want to ask here, is there any viable build to optimise this new Protoss updates?

Chrono mastery went from highly competetive for all commanders to possibly the best for all protoss commanders. Also, Zeratul has a real reason to use chrono now.
I can just imagine how laughably broken this buff would be in 1v1.
By extension, wouldn’t this also work with Karax’ Chrono Wave? IOW, those buildings also warp in 5x faster?
A fun application for this would be to Chrono Infested Bunkers as they build. To be honest though, as far as maximizing its benefit I think using it on ally is still best.
You can not chrono boost all building as they are being built, pylons being one example.
I never tried boosting bunkers however.
This was a neat, undocumented change. However, Karax’s Nexi do not do this for some reason. Everyone else’s does.

I’ve tested this with Fenix. You can chrono all of his production and upgrade buildings except for the nexus. So the only things you can’t chrono are pylons, assimilator, cannons and nexus.
One early benefit I can see is the Taldarin/Warbringer opening when you can’t fast expand. You can chrono the robo bay to get Warbringer out faster.
Isn’t the Nexus actually self-chrono’ing? Just tested and yes, I couldn’t cast Chrono on it from another Nexus, but that’s because when clicking on it it was already affected by Chrono – its own.

Yes, this is correct. Chrono mastery is also now expansion build time mastery. Which is pretty OP.
most of the time in the early game you are limited by resources anyway, but at least you can complete your expansion quicker now

So is this a bug or a new feature?

I’ve utilized Vorazon build and I tried to rush DarkShrine at around 2:58 minute mark (15% boost efficient mastery). I could even warp in 3 DTs as soon as ShadowGuard is available.

I never noticed this until today. Anyone know if it works on non-protoss ally structures as well?

I did the same, although was a tad later without mastery.
Makes me wonder if it even makes sense to warp in the Shadow Guard or use that 50 energy on pylons or black holes instead.
Definitely warp in the Dark Pylon, this alone saves 100min and build time to allow Gateway to be built at 14-15 Probe (depending if you are Chrono’ing ally). I find clearing is still more optimal with Shadow Guard.
The only real money question right now is who can find the perfect split in this mastery set first. Let the testing begin!
Yes, that saves a lot of time and minerals.
I usually spawn at least two dark pylons in the first two minutes. Funny thing is when the first enemy wave reaches your base but can’t attach your nor your ally’s base as both are cloaked.
Looks like many people will be disappointed when this will be fixed and chrono will work like it used to. Because yes, it looks like a bug, not an intended behavior.
So abuse it while you still can.

Perhaps it is not?
It makes expanding as protoss more competitive with the other races.
Terrans can start building a command center in the first minute and move it after the rocks are gone.
Zerg can’t, but it never hurts to have another hatchery for the extra larva.
Plus, it makes it more viable to defend the first wave without having your economy crippled by building higher tech units instead of mineral dumps that would die horribly.

also abathur and stetmann have structure morph time, which applies to all structures, whereas with chrono boost you can only boost 1 building per nexus.
Well, the cd for Shadow Guard was intentionally set to be roughly equal to the time to generate the first 50 energy (it’s slightly more). So basically, you put 8 points into energy if you only want 1 dark pylon, and 16 points if you want 2. Cut and dry.
