Change command priority for explosive units

Hi. My hotkey setup is QWERTY/ASDFGH/ZXCVB for all actions, and while playing as Zagara I’ve found out my explosive units (giblings) take higher priority than zerglings. I can accidentally select a group of giblings+zerglings and press Z hotkey (to transform zerglings to giblings) but what is done is gibglings are destroyed, because both transformation of zerglings and explosion of giblings have Z as hotkey. and I often loose my army because of this. wouldn’t it be better for explosive units to have lower priority than normal units? or simply explosive actions have lower priority than civil actions? or please write your ideas guys how to ‘fix’ this annoying behaviour.

Go to Hotkeys and fix them as you see fit.
If you want to stop Banelings from exploding from mistakenly pressing the explosion button, go to Hotkeys and takeway explosion hotkey.

Personally, I want Baneling Spawns and Banelings be selected separately rather than together. They take unnecessary supply, it would be great if I can use them to free up supplies.

Change your hotkeys.

I’m not sure why you have those particular keys assigned to these abilities but by default:

  • Exploding Banelings (your giblings) is X
  • Evolving into Banelings is E
  • Producing Swarmlings (zerglings) is Z
    They don’t interfere with each other at all.

Just go into options and change them if this hinders your ability to play.


However, if you insist on playing with hotkeys that are assigned to multiple actions then:

  • You can press Tab within your multi-selected group of Banelings and Swarmlings to make sure they are on Swarmlings before pressing “your assigned z” to evolve them into Banelings.
  • Otherwise, continue to risk self-destructing all of your Banelings as you describe.
