All the co-op grinds, but this feel fun. gaining master levels playing level 15 commanders, great fun. Playing a new character, and slowly unlocking all of his bonuses of the first time, lots of fun.
Playing what now feels like a gimped character, to unlock things you already used to have several times over, just doesn’t feel fun.
I really want a way to be able to unlock prestige using level 15 charecters. Not sure the best way to do it, i don’t care if it takes twice as long as the standard way, but please blizzard!! give us an enjoyable option. We play games for fun after all
They could enable this by having the first prestige for that commander unlocked. So as long as you’ve unlocked at least one of that commander’s prestiges, mastery will take effect during levels 1-15.
Yes and yes. I’ve been pretty slow to level prestige because after doing it twice on Zeratul and once on Rayner, I’ve lost the will to do it anymore. /wrist
As someone who completely supported the prestige system at the beginning, and have prestiged about 20 times, I too am slowly loosing the will to do the other 34.
But also I’m just getting kinda bored of coop in general, so there’s that too.
All that being said, I’d like other ways to unlock prestiges.
In my particular case i like and i can say preffer to obtain new advantages or changes trought effort, but dont misundestand, when i say effort in this case really mean pasing a well constructed and fair challenge or test, thats another reason why the grinding method is now, give me really boredom.
I like the idea of another alternative method to unlock the prestiges, only if this alternative is at least fair and dont involve tedious and bored grinding.
I think one solution would be to let us choose what prestige we want to unlock… For example, I wanted to try Dehaka’s P3 first, but I had to replay him so many times to get there… smh. I had to go through P1 and P2 just to enjoy P3. And sure, P1 was actually pretty enjoyable, but man… P3, I knew it was going to be amazing and it sure was. P2, I don’t know… I love Dehaka too much. I wouldn’t sacrifice his time for any of the pack leaders.
This has been said too many times but I don’t think that will happen.
Blizzard missed an opportunity to make more cash. Maybe they could had allow players to choose which prestige to level but players has to pay for it. Like pick P3 by paying for it and then players has to level that P3.
If you choose not pay, you have to level it from p1 to p3.
Having said all that, I don’t think anything will change.
I concur, but thinking more deeply in this alternative, i dont believe this will be better at long term, specially to those who want more than 1 prestige of the same commander, if the releveling feel fun or the grinding wasnt boredom, well…
Yes and no.
In the “yes” i can understand the why you say that, and its a valid point, but at the same time is a total clear “no” becasue this will goint turn into a p2w, and another thing is that “pay again for what is aready payed?” Let me remind that the commanders arent free, except the first 3
i dont think this will be the best, unless they whant scare the people.
In missing opportunities its true but for making a better experience, maybe a better mechanic of unlocking, make challenges that incetive the use of prestiges more efficient and its unlock.
There are people literally begging to buy a stim pack or warchest. Just make a limited time offer for any sc2 related store purchase you don’t already own, that you can pay 2.50 additional to get a stimpack added on to whatever it is you are buying. Then I can buy something of value (not pay to win) and get a benefit added on. Or invent something we can buy and add a stim pack to it. Tons of money to be made by blizzard without looking like cash grubbing (insert your favorite nouns here).
So it’s a challenge if they make Raynor P2 as “produce 2000 tanks and use afterburner” while leveling up. That’s for sure a much better way to add tedium than simply play and enjoy the 21 games needed to get that prestige.
Imagine having to make 200 Dark Archons, Corsairs, and Oracles throughout P2 Vorazun as a “challenge” cuz “that’s better mechanic”, instead of just play the dang game as you like as P2.
What a bad idea lmao.
Now imagine having to do these “so called challenges” based on prestige mechanics, cuz you know it’s “better this way”, to unlock all 54 of them.
Make 30 platforms every game for 10 games at twice the cost for no real benefit to unlock HH P3, whoaaa, fun!
Kill 50 objectives throughout your leveling using static defence only as Swann P2, oh my, brilliant!
Win missions without producing more than 10 combat units as Karax P3, cuz ya know, gotta use them SoA top bars!
Cover the map in creep as Kerri P1 every game, oh yah that’ll show ‘em.
It’s almost like the devs are not doing this on purpose cuz it already will take awhile to unlock all 54 prestiges. Huh weird
You know, all that sounds very good, and very interesting, and its can be fun because those examples put to the player in a condition to show or develop his/her abilities and masteries with those commanders.
And i concur that the developers are not doing that on purpose, and i think that maybe activision has to say something about that. I dont know if you already hear that there is a closure in europe?
And yes maybe take a while, but is very much less than grinding and reset up to 3 times, thats for sure, because the time to unlock depends more entirely on the player and there is the plus that this opens and make much more comfortable the option of, if the player is tired of that “X” commander, then it can change to another and retake the previous with much less boredom
Well, lets say that you consider a terrible idea its not really terrible when you really think in deep or maybe because instead of thinking outside the box, you are only limiting yourself to your personal tastes.
The examples you put are pretty interesting, of course need polishment, but instead of being terrible, really are good, you are propposing put challenges to the players, and thats really can open to new ways of play, including the inclusion of more maps, etc. etc. etc. Even with those conditions, achievements can be maked.
Please apport more of those terrible ideas. Really are interesting.
I will say that after playing today, I found enjoyment In leveling 4 prestige commanders at once (Zeratul, Alarak, H&H, and Zagara) by rotating games between them. It kind of breaks up some of the monotony of leveling 1 commander from P0-P3 back to back to back.
(I still want to buy a stim pack tho… blizzard plz).
Its understandable, because the faster the prestige is unlocked, the faster the grinding monotony will end.
I will not pay for the prestige, but for 1 stimpack… “Maybe” i think about it.
For me it’s worth it because of my busy work schedule. I only really get to sit down for some games on Saturday because I have a lot of time to myself that day and I’m off of work. Making the most of my time in game is pretty valuable for me. I’d buy multiple stim packs if they stacked and it was available. Though I do understand that too many monetized exp bonuses is probably not healthy for the game or the player-base overall.
