Can 12 pooling get you from bronze to GM?

I am looking for a simple low effort way to get to GM that ends games quickly so its easily farmable. Someone told me about this, but the person who told me about this was low diamond. I wanted to know if this strategy is effective. Is it easily countered by stuff like cannon rushes? What about in zvt since terrains can wall off?

Maybe you can. I heard a Hobby protoss ( play in Mars service) get to GM by cannon rush. He’s done it almost every season. He has played 40,000 matches. Most of them is cannon rush. After dinner, he enjoy it. I prefer late-game protoss.

It’s not joke. Repeatedly, it’s not joke. Sometimes, I play in Mars service too. Of course, I play co-op mission rencently.

I have matched him. I know his strategy.

74861 match. all of them are cannon rush?

I mean, every decent strategy can get you to gm if you execute it well and have above 50% winrate. The question is: Is it the fastest way? My guess is that its probably not because there is a point where peopel start to understand how a canon rush works and how to counter it (scout your own base with a probe early, 4 probes on each canon, cronoboost a stalker). I think you will most likely get stuck somewhere in master but i may be wrong.

Why didn’t you try cannon rush?
20 characters.

Only when you are well above GM level in skill. If that is the case, you can get GM with any strategy.

12 pooling will get you to diamond 3 in about less than a week.
To GM? I don’t think that’s possible.

Just to the roach timing (60 worker then roach ravager till you are maxed, and then go to your opponent base at 9 minutes with 1/1 upgrade and speed done), and that thing can get you to GM, fairly simple and easy build as well.

Actually, MMR is just a data. I chose my favourite style to play Starcraft 2. He chose his.

there is no easy way to get to gm, there are EASIER ways like picking zerg or cheesing, but will still take years

Imho its a bit of missing the point. Maybe you can get to Masters by one cheese or another (I would imagine not to GM but no idea), but whats the point? You still will know nearly nothing about the game, how to really play it. So if you play for fun, i dont see the point , unless for bragging rights, which is ok i guess even if i dont share it. If you aim to start your pro carrer still silly since you will not really know how to play.

Definitely for braggin rights/

Well for example you can type on forums that you are GM, or Master…I would imagine that works that way

You don’t brag about lies, you brag about truths.

Im confused. My supposition was about someone that cheeses his way up to Masters, just to be able to brag about it. So it would be the truth in that respect.

Oh, Sorry, nvm, I was confused because you said “You can type on forums that you are GM…”, which makes me think you are saying that “just lie”.

i am not sure about 12 pooling, but there was (or maybe still is) a player Alexander, who made it into gm by playing only cheese strategies, like 1 base ravager all-in, mass ling flood with banelings or without, but 12 pool alone wouldnt bring you there i think.

No. 12 pool is about as hard a counter to cannon rush as I can imagine.

As for it being a low effort way to get to GM. No, it’s not. Straight 12 pool in ZvZ is not an all-in and is meant to just put you ahead. Vs Protoss it can end the game but it’s pretty easy to hold if the Protoss sees it coming, vs Terran it’s basically useless.

If you want to end games quickly, learn some proper cheese, 12 pool isn’t it.

13/12 vs Zerg is probably the best cheese. 13 gas, 12 pool, first 100 gas on speed, any more gas on banelings. Vs Protoss you can ling flood them off 3 hatches. With Terran you can baneling bust them, I think that’s off 3 hatches aswell, but like 19-21 drones.

NoRegret has started streaming again, if you want cheesy Zerg builds, he’s definitely your guy.

With some all ins for sure you can reach even GM, however I don’t think 12 pool is among them. In higher leagues this all in is easily scouted and defended.

Somehow GM cannon rushers still find ways of beating 12 pool openers. Not sure how they do it, but they do.

Do a 13/12. This build can get you to GM. Someone does it to the point other GMs know he’s doing it and sometimes he still wins. It’s drone extractor pool drone drone drone overlord ling ling ling etc. Basically a bane bust on 1 base.

Just keep in mind that even the simplest cheeses still take some effort to pull off. Except for cannon rushing (braindead strategy unless you are a certified wizard).
