with terran siege units at an all time high, hardened shield would make immortals much better at busting fortified positions, and while it would make them weaker against a lot of things, they would become stronger against the units they are supposed to counter (armored), as most of those units have high damages and low rates of fire.
Don’t know about that one, i have never felt that i can’t break fortified positions as protoss.

Your in the wrong forum… its a protoss thread isnt it?
Immortals are now fairly good against anything because the shield blocks anything, not just tank shots which they were designed against originaly.
But on this course tanks have been nerfed several times - their attack now consisting of a heavy reduced damage to any non-armored units, aswell as more anti-sieging units being introduced in HOTS and LOTV.
Another topic is shield batteries (again, included in lotv…) … And you were probably hoping to abuse this…
By the way they would / could make liberators almost useless, which that unit doesn’t deserve, there are enough things out there.
So overall the hardened shield is simply out of date for its original purpose. And to be honest it is too special and too strong for what it does in its own regard, overall i’d say the immortal now is stronger though.
