Voidray a bit too fast… why you keep making toss air units like… super fast… only thing faster is a speedling and not by much -.-;;

Currently, Void rays are the only good Protoss unit, and they are not even that fast.

At last, Protoss has a flyer that can go on the offensive.

they are the 2nd fastest unit in the game… they might even be faster than the old tempest which is ridiculous. they are fast. very fast.
and the interaction between voids and vikings is screwed because of this change.

Before, Vikings would just outright counter all of Skytoss, now they have 1 unit they cannot counter. I think that is balanced.

relax it is the same ol’ 0 armor void ray that becomes an unupgraded overlord when they activate their lasers

Liberator,corruptor,mutas are all faster, vikings still own voidrays in equal supply if you micro.
Fact check before you post nonsense…

I agree that the upgrade may need to cost more and take longer (maybe ~78 seconds or 110 units and costing 150m 150g if just to delay rushes), but the speedy Void Rays, I want to see how it develops. Marines and Cyclones seem like the best counters.

Stop crying. Protoss is gutted right now.

Protoss is not gutted. The adept is gutted, and the Observer nerf is a mystery, but on the whole, we are not so bad.
Our Fleet Beacon level units could use buffs, and even redesigns, however.

Ok. But 2 gateway units (one of those that wasnt even used so much in midgame) were nerfed. Protoss only received a buff in a unit that was never used (voidrays).

That is true, and the Charge nerf was stupid, but at least we have 1 air unit that can actually be offensive.

Granted, there are already cries for it to be nerfed into uselessness, just like Carriers, Prisms, and everything else that Protoss had over the years, that could actually take the fight to the enemy’s base.

Kids get scared of the Big Golden Men easy, go figure…

beasty beaten 6.3k mmr player with it, but if terran scout it, or blindcouter it, you can beat it easily with stim and mass marines i think

Beasty has also seen that Cyclones with Lock-On are a viable counter, provided Terran can keep vision of the Speed Rays, and micro accordingly.

Yeah problem is voidrays counter cyclones too and destroy cyclones instantly, now they are fast so you can drop on them from the fog and if you get that critical mass and on some maps abuse cliffs, so not everytime cyclones work, getting fast stim and mass marines would be better probably. Just get 1-2 cyclones to hold initially and than mass marine.

Cyclones can keep out of range, even with the Speed Raty upgrade. I also wonder what a few Liberators with a Raven and Anti-Armour Missile would do to mass Void Rays.

Yeah but, voidrays also get quickly out of range and if you abuse cliffs, also if you don’t look voidrays can drop on cyclones fast and kill them instantly, because cyclones are paper, they can counter voidrays, but that can work both ways. What do you do against 30 stimmed marines when you mass voids ?

Build more than 1 unit?

Maybe a counter based on Cyclones needs some air to keep sight on the Speed Rays.

Go around them and attack somewhere else.
