Blizzard is no longer a great company, because it is unwilling to spend some small costs on maintaining its flagship product, the SC2.

" Blizzard Entertainment has earned over $1 billion in lifetime revenue from the combined StarCraft series, including StarCraft II. By 2015, the series had sold over 17.6 million copies. StarCraft II alone sold 3 million copies in its first month"

$1 billion is no small amount no matter how much another of their products made.

Activision only sees a smaller investment and asks “But why isn’t this making as much money as WoW”.

Private equity is a huge problem because shareholders can sue corporations for not doing the most short sighted, greedy, dumb crap possible. I mean the shareholders of United Health literally sued the CEO because he wasn’t as scummy as the previous one was so their profits were down.

The system is broken.

Scaling back support for SC2 is the proof that Blizzard isn’t what it used to be?

I can think of a pretty long list of bigger strikes against them over the last eight years.

They literally abandoned their cross IP marketing platform game: HotS.

ESPN televised games n everything for Heroes of the Dorm 2.0 and they fumbled all of that good will.

Would you invest precious money on a dead product?

That’s the thing though, it only died because of lack of investment lol. Not including skin sales at launch was also next level stupid too.

Blizzard is terrible at IP management. They are allergic to good decisions most of the time.
