You know you weren’t the best example with the amount of balance whining you’ve done. I know it’s not the same as being completely toxic but it adds to it. But anyway it is good if people want to move away from that.
i sometimes play other games like csgo and in my opinion the starcraft 2 community is 10x less toxic than some of the players on that, i think sometimes in team games people can be toxic, but in normal 1v1 everyone is chill.
And what does that video prove? Jason still could have 2 screens - one for playing, second one for entertainment or for lauching for example avilo stream to stream snipe and viewers can’t even see this when they’re on jason stream. That probably didn’t happened but everything is possible, you never can’t be 100% sure. Even when it was 100% legit game avilo still could think his opponent is maphacker if he was seeing some suspicious plays so I don’t understand what is the problem?
Problem is that you don’t go around slandering and harassing people without proof. It damages their reputation, it places psychological stress on them, it causes emotional injury. What if Jason is another twitch streamer? Such accusations can affect his reputation, cause subscribers to withdraw…and Avilo’s fans to go to his twitch channel to insult and flame him.
Attacking other people, especially without proof, is a huge problem. People have the right to stay free of harassment and abuse. Is it really that difficult to be nice and civil to each other? Avilo could have approached this differently, but he didn’t and instead chose to attack other people, and that’s why people describe him as toxic.

Maybe, but he certainly wasn’t receiving any joy. Plus he wasn’t Avilo’s only victim. Remember that poor lady that he stalked, which led to his ban from Twitch?

What the heck, I just made a thread about this days ago and no one cared/berated for calling out stuff.
Guess bnet posting is only for regulars i guess. The reason this happens, from my experience playing since 2014, was when Blizzard made this game free to play in desperation to get HotS numbers of players, that the same players who played already made smurf accounts just to style on others.
To elaborate further on the F2P, this makes it unlikely that censor/bans to be effective when you can just make another account. Blizzard will never IP ban either because then they’re losing a customer.
I miss pre-2018. Much less anger/strife in diamond/masters

It was better than lotv, more balanced and fun, except swarmhosts. Now game is about suiciding units into mineral line without any control, instead of fighting main armies, is this better ?
Absolutely agree, and I support you on that, we should be better.
However couple of things:

You get be little, if you are in a gold league like: like you didn’t deserve to post your opinions on forum you don’t know what you talking about. You won vs Plat or Diam, no you don’t deserve the win.

You get cheese like 3 games in a row, from 3 different, all Protoss usually, it gets frustrating.

Map hack, some people refuse to get better and they play with map hack.

Real life threats, when you play, people like tell you after the game pages long: I will find you and whatever, threaten your life.
I just started playing sc2 played brood wars long time. Yes all games have this problem. But, In SC2 it s getting out of control exactly like in MK community.
We can change DotA 1 was very toxic, DotA 2 was less toxic, and nowadays is pretty good community.
It s only hurting SC2 the the game we love, you see in other games the community wants noobs and new player.
Here in SC2 is like the community doesn’t want new fans and players: "well you suck you shouldn’t play, you should watch 1000 hr of stream before you touch the game.

and it’s sort of back now, and again i’m done with sc2 until they fix the current meta… it’s not fun right now.
Yeah, the meta is pretty fubar right now. Even if win rates are close-ish to 50/50, this is a fairly toxic meta where it’s either cheese or super hard turtle. And toxic metas tend to bring out the worst in people. Last time things were this obtuse was back with David Kim’s beloved Tankivacs.
I think since the player base is approaching or already 30 plus for the most part we can deal with trash talking and see it as fun?

Only because sh and raven, if these was fixed, game would be fine. Tvz was most mechanical match and tvp was also not that bad as it is now. People would try to contain protoss on 3 bases and drop when he leaves his base, because maxed protoss army was almost unbeatable. But game was playable, you could play macro game, right now game is dogs hit.
Hots was 10 times better than this garbage and more balanced. So what you could turle, other player could try to break you, or get ahead in econ. Game was about main army fights, instead about suiciding units into mineral line and game took skill and it was strategy game. Better player would usually win, but in lotv, you sack 10 adepts into mineral line and all the sudden you are wining just because you 1 apm click units into opponents mineral line and game balance is dogshi t…
This thread is a great example of the community’s toxicity (quite ironically). “Гуди” posted an opinion different than mine? Better pummel it in reports until the guy gets banned; he doesn’t deserve to post here if he disagrees with me!
Nobody here actually cares about the toxicity. They are the toxicity and they are playing the victim to shield themselves from criticism.
If you actually care about toxicity, stop being intolerant. Stop reporting people just because they disagree with you. Stop freaking out the moment your opinion is crossed. Stop projecting the problem onto others. You are the problem. You are intolerant. That is the problem.
A tolerant person wouldn’t even care. I’ve witnessed posters receive death threats (yes, on these forums) that that they simply rolled their eyes at meanwhile the poor victims in this thread pummel people in reports just because they have a difference in opinion.
The hypocrisy is astounding. Stop over-reacting at everything. Stop playing the victim to shield yourself from your own intolerance.
