Currently I have a gaming Lapop, and I am switching to a Gaming PC mostly just for SC2.
I understand it has to be 144hz and 1 ms response time, or smth similar.
My question is Curved or Not Curved is better for SC2?

i have a curved monitor and using one, it doesn’t seem any different than a regular one… but i like it
1ms response time actually doesn’t tell you anything, it is simply transition from grey to grey, manufacturers list lowest response time from marketing reasons !
Also don’t trust review sites, aoc sent reviewers even monitors without overdrive, because it has faulty overdrive causing ghosting so they don’t write it in review.
You have to be mega paranoid nowaydays. Check blurbusters forums and don’t trust anything that is on manufacturer sites. Check for both processing lag and pixel lag. TFTcentral great review site!
I heard about that, they don’t use the right test black to white response time, but black to grey which doesn’t tell you anything
No point in getting a 144Hz monitor if you don’t have the GPU that is capable of that kind of performance.
And don’t buy into the 1ms crap, it’s marketing spin.
Personal preference. Best if you can find a store that has a curved monitor on display and see for yourself.
I am willing to spend 2 k for whole system with monitor (keyboard, desk, mouse I have) , that’s should be enough right?
You can have 144hz curson in sc2, with only 60 fps capped btw. But sc2 won’t run more than on 60 fps even with 5ghz cpu, since it is single-core and gpu is bottlenecked. Just check pixel response time and processing lag and total lag on reviewer site and check on blurbuster forums, if monitor doesn’t have flaws !
So long as you have the specs optimized to the budget and what you intend to use the PC for, you should be fine.
Are you intending to play 1080p or 1440p? I may have a monitor in mind for you.
SC2 can’t run above 60 fps?
is this true? this is bad.
I think this is not true.
Very Not true. I run consistently at 120. It drops rather quickly to 70-80 in the late game.
High refresh rates are mostly useful in FPS games. No point in getting one for SC2.
Get higher resolution and better colours instead: IPS 1440p.
Unless you play other games which could benefit from the 144hz.
