That 1-second stun before it jumps makes the BC kinda useless for “harrassing”. Tried 3 games, and 1 second is enough time to kill any low HP Battlecruiser.
They build slow, cost a ton of resources and are easily countered. Nobody is going to use these things again.
Instant teleport was an absolutely awful design decision.
Honestly 1 second is still too short.
You should HAVE to plan a bit in advance when you jump. The thing has a billion health and armor, you can save it if you’re not greedy.
That still leaves you with 400 HP to work with, something that last you long enough to do damage. And its not like you can’t regain health on the battlecruiser.
I disagree with Tempest, they are too slow and the attack is underwhelming vs big, tanky targets. Tempests are better vs Tanks and Cyclones, even vs Medivacs and Banshees.
This would definetly make bcs useless because the only consistent use for bcs atm is as an opener in tvz, without tactical jump you could not open bc in tvz since flying across the map would add another 30+ secconds to your rush and allow zerg to defend every single bc opener with close to no losses (wich they already almost do), it would also make it close to impossible hitting the same 3 bc timing with yamato + tacical jump meaning your bc followup is also weaker and if you get the abilities before factories youre followup is even weaker and you can die etc.
We rarely if ever see bcs in pvt because there is no consistent way to get there, as for answers the closes would be tempests with mothership core for double recall and oracle for revelation.
If as an example 120 supply of bcs jump ontop of 120 supply of voidrays the void rays win every time, voids survive yamato with about 10 hp but also costs 2 less suply than bcs and out damage them by alot with prismatic. On old patch it did not work since terran can outplay the voids with max range yamatos and tp away but im curious how this plays out on new patch with new speed upgrade and delay on tp, keep in mind terran still has good answers to voids like emp etc so pure void vs pure bc is not going to be something we see consistently if ever.
