Artosis mentioned that Zerg is OP in SC2 recently.
Zerg is the best choice is you want to win tournaments, protoss is best if you want to win ladder.
First, put the GSL on mute. Artosis is a fountain of nonsense. I made the mistake of unmuting the GSL recently and he was trying to hype hero as one of the best micro players on the planet and then hero lost an entire skytoss army to 1 fungal and some ravager biles which is objectively some of the absolute worse micro I have ever seen in my entire life. Side note: Dark’s micro was absolutely stellar.
Second, intelligence is rare. That’s simply a fact. Intelligence is also tightly packed around the mean with very little variance. A person who is in the top 1% in intelligence will be almost identical in performance to someone who is average. True intelligence is extremely rare. Statistically, every person around you is a waste of time to talk to. That’s just how it is. It’s like if you visited the zoo and all the chimpanzees are running around making chimp noises. That’s the equivalent here. Instead off “oooo oooo eeee eeee aaaa aaaa” it’s “any random eu zerg can win the finals” which is so devoid of intelligent thought that it’s indistinguishable from the mannerisms of a chimp.
Third, something I’ve noticed is that it’s common for people to have the skills to convert thoughts into words quite well. The part of their brain that generates words and strings them into sentences works quite well. The problem is, the part of the brain generating thoughts is totally dysfunctional which means it’s jamming total garbage into the word generation part of their brain and it spits out total BS like what you witnessed. That’s the problem with humanity. Humans can transmit ideas well, but they can’t create ideas well and they can’t discern between good ideas and bad ideas. Thus, terrible ideas are constantly circulating throughout society.
Stupidity is frankly the biggest threat mankind has ever faced. It’s not nukes nor viruses. It’s stupidity. Every society has mechanisms in place to inundate stupid people. You have to keep them out of the way so the smart people can roll up their sleeves and get to work on the real issues. That’s what hollywood is for. That’s what video games are for. Etc, etc. The more these people try to help, the more problems they create. If they feel like they are trying to do good, they will try even harder and screw things up even more. That’s why Twitter exists. It allows them to feel like they are fighting for social justice when in reality they accomplish nothing. Modern society is only allowed to exist by the grace of the intelligent. The world truly rests on their shoulders as if they were Atlas.
While it’s annoying to read the truly horrendous takes of twitch trolls, imagine how much more horrifying it would be if these people were actually talking about a real issue instead of a video game. Yikes. I am so glad video games exist to keep these people distracted from the real issues. The more I see psychos complaining about SC2 the more at ease I am because I know they could be spamming that BS about something that actually mattered.
Historically Zerg was the race that was “easier” for foreigners, stats showed that if you wanted to beat koreans when korean players were unbeatable,you had to play Zerg. Z is a race that doesn’t rely on cheeses and just solid gameplay,so it is easier than praying for your timing/cheese/gimmick to work. It is a very flexible race,you can adapt easier than a T or P. You can see clearly that if you are a foreigner P you will win only at NA,if you are a foreigner T,you maybe will win some premier over many years.
The race design is there and no one can deny it.
I think there was always part of people who were not smart and smart people who build things like battle.net… It seems tho that in the next generation who has now come here there isnt as much smart people, or smart people has been mixed more with not-so-smart people causing this phenomenon where there isnt really anymore isolated place for smart people to gather.
No, it’s just that now everyone has a voice that can be used to trigger people especially when it comes to things that are in essence tribalism. SC2 is still balanced from pro feedback that’s why the meta hasn’t really changed much post patch even though the majority are bored of Playa’s void ray, disruptor style in PvZ.
Even Snute said on his twitch stream back in the day that he ‘doesn’t play zerg because it is fun. He plays zerg because it wins.’
