Apollo Just tweeted in response to Nathanias, that they have been in talks with Blizzard, and new maps should come for the competitive scene. Let’s hope this applies for ladder as well. Maybe there is still hope.

LOL you know the game is dead when SC2 casters have to beg blizzard to spend 10 minutes updating their map pool.

New map was real sine show up on gsl
GSL frequently had 1 or 2 exclusive maps, so that was not a great indicator.

That gsl fruit map was awesome, and I remember one about a really weird beach.

Who is apollo? Never heard of him.
Used to be a pro player, then transitioned into cast/host and then started working for ESL.
Actually, seeing Apollo getting involved makes me think the game is really aliev.

Right those are both good maps. Can still find and play them in custom last time i looked.
Anyone who was around the early stages of sc2 knows who Apollo is. He was the main Caster for tournaments outside of Korea (Tastosis), much like Rotti is now until he joined ESL and started covering a broader array of games. So having him involved in the future of SC2 is a great sign.
