if you’re not looking forward to the next patch, you can always watch AoE2, its only getting more and more popular of late and the pros actually play multiple different civilizations during tournaments.

they don’t make as much as sc2 but they make a good chunk of change, and prize pools have only been going up lately.

AOE2 doesn’t have the same kind of scene, but it is fairly popular.
the aoe2 scene has actually been growing lately, with a recent tournament bringing in the most views ever for an aoe2 tournament, and the biggest single player prize pool in the games history.
aoe2 also actually has a team game scene, something you don’t see in SC2.

If you feel like it, then you should play it. The point of video games is that you have fun with it. It does not matter if it’s more popular, more supported or not.

I’ve been getting into minecraft recently. A hugely mod-able game with interesting base mechanics. I hated it at first but got into it with some buddies who insisted I needed to try a mod called RLCraft. Give it a try. You can download the mod through Twitch. It’s a ridiculously difficult mod.
With blizzard digging SC2’s grave deeper and deeper sooner or later you’ve got to move on.

changes are minor, game is fine.
reality is 99% of people on this sad forum complaining about balance suck too much at the game for balance to apply to them but it’s always easier to blame the race victim card than admit you suck and actually improve at the game

It’s easy to call others whiners when you’re on top and watching balance changes favor your race.

Terran is “on top” mostly because of the map season. It’s still a 50% season, but of course Zergs grew so accustomed to just dunking on any other race (and are still doing it to Protoss), that any change from that seems like a massive injustice.

so if everything is balanced, why is zerg being nerfed against terran?
and fyi if by “Dunking on protoss” you mean we got a 53% winrate, yeah you’re right. which is in the balanced range, and heck i’m okay with the nerf to Queens, which helps protoss out against them.
what i am not okay with, is widowmine buffs and baneling nerfs.
and if the map pool is SO IMBALANCED that it’s causing SUCH HUGE ISSUES in GSL, why the heck is it still being used and NOT REMOVED?

go look at tournament results now. HSC, IEM Katowice, ST 1, GSL Season 1, combined 58% tvz winrate. (and it only got worse the further away from the last balance patch you got) you’re telling me that’s okay?
also tell me again why what is considered a “Balanced matchup” needs a buff for terran and 2 nerfs for zerg.

They like to bring up winrates only when it favours their argument. According to Blizzard’s own logic within 5% is reasonable, so basically every match up has been balanced for years. Of course we know that isn’t true which means these winrates are pretty junk.
queen nerf is fine
baneling nerf will have almost no impact in tvz IMO (wow -2 damage v marauders!!)
creep change is fine
widow mine idk we’ll see how it plays out. not necessary, but they designed it for tvp. if it breaks tvz (highly doubt) im sure theyll go a different direction.
this patch is for PVZ
and tanks, and anything else not light. but go ahead and pretend it has no impact on tvz.

you can sit there and say don’t complain, but that’s easy to say when your race is winning 58% of the TvZ matchups in premier tournaments.

Because a more balanced map pool would make it Zerg favored enough to be balanced again.
You have been at or well above 50% win rate for FIVE YEARS! I’m not Protoss and do not remotely have a dog in that fight, but any idiot can tell that match up hasn’t been balanced since LotV dropped.
Yes. You get to cherry pick the stats that matter. Zerg gets more over represented at every level because of how much easier it is. So now, because you’re so much easier, you deserve to be overpowered…
