Raynor thought Kerrigan was going to turn into a giant 16-eyed octopus. But instead she stripped completely naked and lit herself on fire. And Raynor was basically like “eh, I think I’m okay with this.”

Now everyone can see his girlfriend is hot. How could he complain ?

Well, the guy obviously has his priorities completely wrong. I mean, the first image of him you see in the campaign is an omega-male drinking his life away with whisky in an old dirty pub, after which he transforms into a white knight hunting his former crush from the time they were both serving in the military.
His social circle consist of a fat midget with deformed arms (Swann), a gas sniffing crazy who bears similarities with a crack-addict (Stettman) and an ex-convict who probably had severe traumas by being locked up for years in a suit not being able to get out of it to go to the loo (Tychus).
Despite that social circle they succeed in “rescuing” his crush and making her human/terran again… only to find out she’s the type of woman who has multiple brilliant ideas, one of them being transforming herself back into that former horrible state with unwashed hair and an exoskeleton (probably just to get rid of him and his friends again). The part where she strips herself naked and lit herself on fire in front of the remainder of his surviving army after defeating Amon is the ultimate middle finger to him and also the icing on the cake in the whole story. I’m pretty sure Raynor wasn’t okay with that because the last image you see again, is an old and worn-out “hero” returning to that same old dirty pub drinking whisky again, eventually simping when a creature resembling Kerrigan enters that pub, hoping it would make things better again.

I get what you’re saying but after Raynor met Kerrigan his life changed forever. Without her I doubt he would have ever got past being a marshall. And if she didn’t side with him and help him and his friends out (as seen in BW campaign and HOTS) and helping kill Mengsk this “helpless drunk” would have never recovered. Not to mention after having to see her devilish alien form for the majority of the last 10 years I’m sure he got turned on seeing her naked again (and mostly human looking).
