of course it’s not a problem for you because you don’t play over 6k mmr. even Showtime says Toss has easier tools and you see it GM full of Toss.
pro T/ Z players don’t play ladder anymore because it’s boring to frustrating.
enjoy it and stop talking your way out of it… atm you play the easiest race.
I play Terran but my MMR is not at 6k
But soon it will be
And the top level tourny theater is not where the heart of SC2 lies. It lies within the ranks of lower leagueers like me . True passion I is.
I’m not interested in digging into some obscure statistics.
What is important is EXTREME overpopulation of Protoss in both GML and pro scene (e.g. in Dreamhack number of toss players is equal to number of zerg and terran combined) - and that is despite the fact that Protoss is the LEAST played race.
There are number of reasons why playing toss is just easier.
So you arent interested in data that shows that protoss is balanced, but data that allows you to come to a subjective conclusion is important. Gotcha.
Dude, every piece of data says one thing (that Protoss is overpowered) and you claim that one particular analysis doesn’t.
It feels like arguing with flat earther who will conjure some weird phenomena that you can’t explain immediately without using google and completely ignore 100500 other phenomena that proves without doubt that Earth is round, yet cry “gotcha! Earth is flat”.
So the winrate, which are the actual tool used to determine balance, are “obscure statistics” that shouldnt be used to decide balance? I want you to say it explicitly here so that everybody can see just how far youre willing to go to conform to your bias.
There is such a thing as looking for data that fit your narrative while ignoring all the data that doesn’t fit.
In the past year denying that Protoss is OP and the game is balanced has become more difficult.
There are many statistics in this thread that clearly shows that Protoss is OP while there aren’t statistics that shows that the game is balanced. Any counter statics throw doubt (without analysis ) at best.
So, instead of trying to throw insults why don’t you find some stats that prove your point instead?
Peak irony is ironic.
Its easy man.
List it here, even if it means repeating yourself.
46% of GM and 60% tournament wins are difficult arguments to beat unless you have a very compelling case. Which will put your ‘peak irony’ comment more relevant to you than anything else.
Compelling is the opposite of what PPP can muster. They just waive their hand, call it invalid, and move on with their life. In other words, they have absolutely zero clue what makes data statistically valid. Don’t try to argue with a person who is both incapable of coming to the correct conclusion and also unwilling to do so.
So these stats show that, regardless of the whining, protoss isnt actually winning all that much more often than they should even in their most skewed matchup. At best, one could make an argument that zerg is slightly weak right now.
That there pretty much lists that Protoss is on top of the food chain.
Protoss is on top in two of the match-ups by those numbers so congrats on proving the point.
Not that it is much of an point anyway because it lacks a lot of context like leagues, sample size, participant numbers etc.
But if it proves somethings it proves that Protoss is on top hands down.
What those number also indicate is that Zerg is by far at the bottom and the only thing that is keeping Protoss from being undeniably at the top is that Terran can almost keep up with it. Those are just indications though in a one month period and conveniently ignoring the longer period like GM and tournament wins statistics does.
So your argument is that protoss is overpowered because zerg is struggling in both non-mirror matchups?
That is, to use the technical term, a bad argument.
No I am arguing that you don’t have an argument and the argument that you listed actually proved the contrary to your argument.
Oh, ok. Then youre wrong. Next?
haha you don’t actually even understand what i wrote there, do you?
I understood exactly what you meant. You just dont have a counterargument to the fact that protoss is not winning any more than they should be in a balanced game.
Did you really miss this whole thread and we have to go through the same exercise again?
Come back and next time list the stats over a longer period of time, sample size, presentation etc.
Nah. Its your turn to provide some stats. Show me that protoss is winning more than they should. Demonstrate that this is a problem with protoss and not just zerg being slightly weak. You want to complain? Back it up with some data then.
Ok.
Protoss is 46% of GM over the past year and won 60% of tournaments over the past year.
