An idea for improving mengsk

as of right now: his royal guard units does not get maximum stats until he reaches level 15. my idea is to make leveling available from level 1 but the abilities gained at level 3(unit level) still require commander level 15.

I… Actually kind of like that idea. Since your lacking certain level ups and mastery to kick start your economy, it’s already hard to justify getting any Royal Guard over regular troopers due to their cost and lack of oomph. This could help some, while also giving players a better idea while they’re leveling him on how many kills it takes for the all important 3rd rank up.

I don’t think this is a deserved and needed improvement for Mengsk (which it have several of).
This proposal defeats the purpose of attaining level 15 talent which should stay unique.
The beauty of a talent to give anticipation to player to try them out in the next gameplay and this proposal cuts the special-ness of the talent in half (by implementing level 3 stat in low level).

the thing is that the royal guard units is not stronger before leveling than the the units of other commanders, while the other commanders have upgrades that improves the stats of their units, meaning that they get stronger than mengsk`s units, while costing less. they need to close that powergap somehow.

I’m not fore or against it. I don’t think it’ll fix anything for Mengsk that a problematic player has already. Meanwhile, having RG level 3 at Talent level 3 wouldn’t hurt either. Rearranging the talents can be good.

I think when you cant even beat coop on normal difficulty, you should probably refrain from telling people what the commanders are and are not good at, and what they do or do not need. Simply put, you havent figured it out yet yourself.

who are you referring to? i have personally beat co-op on hard. though that is off topic. switching around the skills gained at leveling up is possible, though they should not move any units to level 15. they could move the upgrade to the nuclear annihilation to level 15 however.

Would rather they rearrange the mandate talent into a much earlier position.

Now that’s a significant improvement for Mengsk’s leveling experience.

there is no reason not to do both.

I think this is just another dead topic. It’s obvious the talent arrangement shouldn’t give “all the power spikes” at the very beginning. This would lead to the inevitable “well, why are talents 7-15 all :poop:”.

A small rearranging can be discussed but honesty Mengsk doesn’t really have an issue while leveling. So really this is more of a “I prefer to have talent x at this point” than a “this is better for Mengsk and coop”.

As an example, same logic can be applied to Kerri’s 15. 50% increase energy regen would boost her leveling process by a ton, as she is very central and critical to her play (especially while leveling). Yet, it is also clearly very imbalanced if that’s all she does all while through 1-15, which will be the case if given at level 1.

Sometimes spacing these out is meant to give the player that few games to test those new units/tactic. The fact a player chooses to ignore this then use it to justify x level should be at y position… seems misplaced.

Mmm… I don’t feel that would do much for him. I had addressed this in another thread that a user requested me to take a look at him. It’s fine to have the Rank 3 locked to 15, but the leveling process should be changed. It’s more so the usefulness and utility of various upgrades are randomly scattered and make his leveling mega awkward.

Take a guess. Heres a hint: Its the person whose made threads complaining about being unable to beat the missions on casual and normal difficulty.

I’m super disappointed by this topic. Came in expecting some comedy gold from andreasasp, only to find out that it was an actual serious suggestion lol
