Amon got smarter?

Hi there.

I was playing Nova on RtKH solo when an attack wave around 15 min arrived. Comp was fleet of the matriarch. They where a bit off and more towards the right side of the map then usual (looked a bit like the old bug with sky terrans).

I used the air strike to takeout most of them and carried on smashing the slivers on the third spot when I noticed a red dot moving toward me. I was like wtf is this then. Turned out 1 arbiter and a few carriers flew all the way toward the third sliver spot. When I shot down the arbiter I had the impression the carriers wanted to turn around and go the normal route towards the main.

When I watch the replay I think that is the case but apparently those arbiters react very different then any other unit on that map and can somehow override the normal AI of the units that follow them.

Played a lot of RtKH… but this is one I will remember . Kinda hope now they boost up Amon’s capacities with more nifty tricks :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s what blizzards call a buff.

We need to add heroic units of each race (brtutalisk, Leviathans, Loki, Ares, Motherships) after the last enemy composition

I dont know is this related or even a coincidence but i noticed Amon armies that use a protoss Arbiter to be extra sneaky and unpredictable.

These days whenever i see protoss amon using Arbiters i gotta keep an eye out for those shenanigans.

What is the Matriarch?

that is likely the brood war protoss faction he is referring to.

The difficulty of the difficulty scales with your progression because commander lvl and mastery lvl impact your power creep so this keeps the game to game experience feeling challenging.

A long time ago, back when I leveled fresh commanders on hard for the first game or two, I noticed that the waves, even on brutal, weren’t nearly as powerful. If I switched to a lvl 15, 90+ mastery commander, everything got beefed up.

Not what but who, matriarch of the
nerazim, either Vorazun or Razshagal

At the time it was Raszagal. It was the combined elements of the scattered elements of the Khalai fleet and the Nerazim’s fleet. Vorazun wasn’t matriarch until shortly before LotV, with Mohandar leading the Nerazim between the two.

I thought that was some kind of new units

I assume matriach is an upgraded mothership. Void launch is famous for spitting up several omega upgraded ships at the end. The terran version shreds my mutalisk army as kerrigan and is none to kind. I assume blizzard nerfed that mission again because the last 3 times I got it my partner and I were able to once again clear the entire mission and as tradition dictates, I’ve once again been able to start mining and basing the enemy’s expansions once again.

Nope. The Matriarch in “Fleet of the Matriarch” is a reference to the leader of the Nerazim at that point in lore, which was Matriarch Raszagal (Vorazun’s mother). The composition contained both Khalai and Nerazim SCBW units, referring to the remnants of the combined Protoss forces after the events of SC1.
