AFK/Bot In Coop

They’re just a bad player then I guess

True. Thanks for your reply

Yup, then they’d just be a noob rather than an AFKer.

The worst I get are players attacking their own command center and then leave, making you lose if you don’t notice (I luckely did when it happened, for some reason 3 times in a week by different players, guess people hate Mengsk? EU server btw)

Also @Chickenator; I hope you’re trolling, but if you’re serious… Everybody is free to leave at any time for any reason, you taking that as disrespectful says something about you.

I barely ever leave and when I do I usually pause first and give an explanation, but nobody is obligated to do that, especially not at the start of the game.

He enters the random map purposedly to leave if he gets cradle and waste his ally time. So yes, it’s disrespect. There are no obligatory to play random map if you don’t want play (wow that’s surprize) random (not “i play these random maps, but not these”).

Yeah, it’s called map preference. A large chunk of the community does not enjoy playing Cradle of Death. I, myself, being one of them, just do not enjoy the map at all. I enjoy all of the other maps, so it makes sense to queue for Random.

Mind you, 85% of my games are with a lobbied partner, and neither of us enjoy Cradle, so your entire point is moot. On top of this, the chances of rolling Cradle on random in the map pool is about 6.7%. That’s an extremely low leaving rate, not factoring in other games where things go south, allies being AFK, or ally straight up leaving on their own. I’ve even had games where my ally has said “wanna bounce?” and we both agreed to drop the map.

So, no, Mr. “I’m holier than thou”. Having a roughly 6.7% leave rate isn’t doing the game’s queue pool much harm at all, especially so during these times where there are probably more players on than normal.

I’ve had a few games where my ally the other player left after we missed the first bonus shuttle on Scythe of Amon or first bonus train on Part & Parcel, even when the game was going really well until then. They didn’t even mention wanting to do that bonus so desperately, no map ping, etc.

That’s a quit after 6-8 minutes of mission time (out of ~25) for a measly 2000 XP (4500 with difficulty bonus + random mission), for potentially getting “only” 45,000 XP instead of a possible 49,500 XP. Unless they were specifically trying a full clear, that’s a 25% waste of time & effort for just 10% more XP.

That’s called obsessive-compulsive disorder and has nothing to do about exp. Ofc leaving games and even going for bonuses (in most cases) won’t add you more exp points.

Yeah well, that’s like your opinion man, I’m sorry that you see it that way.

I prefer my own world were people are free te make their own choices, without being called names and judged because you have a different perspective. Must be pretty exhausting also, meeting all those people with wrong opinions who need your guidance to be corrected…

And ps I sometimes dodge cradle or a map I already played twice in a row, sometimes I even reque with the same random and nobody ever made an issue about it, in Trump’s words “something to think about”.

Disclaimer: never inject yourself with anything, leave alone desinfectans

Never saw bots or intentionally afk people in coop.
Saw plenty of raynors who never get more than 10 marines because they dont make multiple OC…

On the other topic, why would you care if someone considers you a leaver or whatever?
Just leave if you dont want to play a specific map or with a specific teammate commander.
I for sure will not waste my free time doing something i do not enjoy because someone might call me rude words.

Because i won’t enter game to leave it on purpose, because there is some invisible (apparently) for you term of politeness, so when you are going to do something(like not going to play random maps, but choosing them), first think about will your action cause problems to other people or not, in order to not getting problems from other people yourself in future. If yoou don’t agree on how random map works, play determined map. Simple. It’s not an instruction what to do, it’s explanation of common sense. Do whatever you want, but people will have appropriate attitude to you based on your actions.

On the topic: I got AFK few times, that was pretty strange, and I got the same raynor player AFK twice in a row. I guess i may consider myself lucky

Talking about attitude… :face_with_monocle: :face_with_raised_eyebrow: .

Also I got bad news for you, just because you have an opinion doesn’t make it a universal divine law or any part of “common sense”, cause there’s already 2 people who disagree with your “common sense”, again something to think about…

There are people who take offence when someone who leaves, there’s also people who take non. You blame the one leaving, that’s your choice, you can also choose not to, like Sprite and me.

As to quote my T shirt:
Don’t believe everything you think - Your brain

There are several ways to look at things without being judgemental and respecting the other, if you refuse to accept that enjoy the “attitudes” you’ll get that you think you don’t deserve.

Your attitude here is basically you leaving a game…

Nobody cares about everybody’s opinion. Just don’t make problems to other people, that’s pretty simple.

Frankly, I think if you queue up with random map on and then leave if you get a map you don’t like, that is disrespectful. If you aren’t prepared for a totally random map, don’t queue with it on. Don’t waste somebody’s time by leaving immediately because you don’t like the map. You knew it was a possibility, the least you could do is own that the dice didn’t fall your way and play the game anyway. You have options to avoid it without wasting other peoples time if it really bothers you that much.

That’s what i’m talking about. If there is no emergency, leaving without your ally being ok with it, kinda disrespectful. If someone want’s random but without 1-2 maps, you can make a list of maps and bind numbers to them, then use random generator. But for these people ofc it’s more easy to make problems to others, than do such thing.

What time is being the wasted? The 8 second que time plus 1m load time? Oh the horror.

This isn’t vanilla WoW where it might take an hour or longer to piece a group together for a dungeon. The opportunity cost to get in a new game is nearly 0. I agree insofar as it would be polite to say “sorry, just had this map” before quitting, but I don’t see why this would bother you.

Especially so when your “game abandonment” rate is average 7%, but in reality less than 7%.

This could be solved easily in theory if there was another button next to the Random mission where you could set exceptions.

You could still choose random, but wouldn’t get that one map or two or more for less XP ofc, but that would not matter that much.

Now imagine that you encounter such “i don’t like this map/ally commander/time of day/map pattern” guys lets say 5 times in a row. Not looking so well isn’t it? Now imagine it happens 30 times in a row.
The difference is only that if it happens once you convince yourself that this is not an issue. It’s not an issue if you can basically live with it while you in game, but no, I bet you don’t want to get 30 allies like this in a row. Basically as you stated yourself its kinda 1.5 minutes minimum, so when it happens 10 times, you basically deleted 1 short map fast walthrough from your time, because of such “polite” guys. If you are immortal, you can wait. I am not. And nor I want to lose because of such leavers so i continue game even with ally left if it’s not a mutation because it’s really doable. But when I enter the game I expect co-op, but forced to play solo because someone cares only about himself and have no respect to others.

If you’re having 30 matched allies in a row leaving your games then it looks like they’re trying to tell you something.
