The newly introduced change to adepts make shade 2 base allins extremely overpowering.
Its not just drones it kills, it also kills queens, zerglings, and possibly roaches (my opponent didnt make any, but seeing how lackluster i was with allinning him, yet how early it was, i dont see it making any difference if he had more roaches)
If this change gets through protoss will win every PvZ, and lose every PvT.
Z doesnt stand a chance. The new infestor skill is also really bad, the 11 seconds isnt enough, it should stay for much longer seeing the radius of the skill is almost the same as storms’.
If you’d make them last longer, infestors could spam them more so they can kite out of storms and actually reap the benefits of the increase in damage.
Next world championship post-oct 29 patch. Will be stacked with terrans. Terrans will win the championship. i can 100% guarantee if the current changes stay.
Some protoss will also keep floating maybe throughout the Ro8 and possibly 1 in the Ro. But thats because they are all PvZ.
Just like this last championships, we almost didnt see any PvT, And the PvT’s we did see, where very terran favoured.
Try current adepts against someone who never invented roach warrens, it works really well now.
But against a competent zerg, Zerglings will HARD COUNTER the new adept. Because Zerglings have always shredded un-glaived adepts. And now if the zerg even pretends to have any map vision or vision in general, they can run out their lings and swarm the adepts for basically free because the attack speed boost isn’t there.
Storm has a radius of 1.5 and last for 3 seconds. Shroud has a radius of 3 and last for 11 seconds.
Also I think you mean benefits from the decreased damage from air.
Everyone pretty much agrees that Shroud needs the following changes:
Energy cost reduced from 100 to 75
Duration increased from 11 to 18
On top of those changes you could even increase the radius from 3 to 4 so it can cover more of your army. Also it should effect structures to.
The Adept changes are an overall negative to the Adept. It only promotes all-ins, harassment and shading on to armies.
Glaives is fine and should not be changed, since the Adept attack speed is incredibly slow as is.
What they should do to the Adept is just these two changes to make it useful in the mid game and provide some utility:
HP increased from 70/70 to 80/70(or 80/80)
Can now attack air.
Glaive upgrade is not changed
Simple, easy, no complicated gimmicks that look like something straight out of WC3.
They wanted to buff the Adept HP against EMP’s, but they reverted that and they now seriously think players will build Adepts in the mid game against Bio when Protoss now has BW style fast zealots?.
Ive tested it. I came in with my prism at 5 min with 7 adepts.
Not sure how Z could counter it. Seeing there was no way he could catch me out on the map. and the shades happened right before they would finish on the mineral line.
I personally think its way stronger then most people believe. I have tested it. And it WRECKS eco AND everything near the eco.
So the Adept, a unit that has been nerfed so hard that it’s only good for worker harass and some all-in builds is now going to be better at doing the only two things it can now do. It’s now going to be even worse in fights because the attack speed is slow much means still no mid game usage.

They shouldn’t even touch Glaives and just need to increase the HP to 80/70 and let it attack air so Protoss has more composition variety and response options.
In some compositions and situations Adepts would be a better choice than Stalkers for AA work.
The current Glaives already give good DPS and should not be changed. As I said the two changes to the Adept that I frequently talk about would greatly improve it without breaking it.
He tried that, but i just kept pressing shade as soon as it was off cooldown. He basically couldnt do anything.
Then after i made a second 7 rounds, rotating between 2 bases at all times literally killing everything inside the bases almost faster then an oracle could.
Only thing i can see howto counter it is by … unironically walling off as Z.
There is a 5 second downtime. And 60% is no that much more than the 45% before. If he couldn’t kill adepts that were guaranteed to finish shading, he couldn’t kill current adepts. Because he should just be able to f2 where the shades are and win.
Sounds to me more like you were playing against a Zerg 500MMR below you who failed at making units.
I just told you the only 2 actuall ways to buff adept to make it more of a core army unit.
You can disagree with me however you like. But logic prevails.
Stalkers are faster have more range and possibly more dps vs air. Everything that needs to be shot down is ussually armored.
Adepts dont do any damage versus armored units. Marauders will wreck havock versus adepts, upgraded or not, same with roaches.
Those 2 units are basic 101 staple units that hardcounter the adept. If you want to make adept an actual useable unit you NEED to look at that interaction.
But you can also use stutter step to minimize damage. Start shade if zerg splits his units you can try trades against small groups. if he does not split shade.
That’s what Zerg does now and WON’T do with the adept nerf. Because you MUST shade, you don’t have the option of cancelling or you get owned, so Zerg just commits to the shades.
No that only happens in your fantasy land with your self promoted ‘balance map’ When its quite clear the only people who even play the map are people who are already in favour of your ideas in the first place.
You dont have a big enough crowd to actually advocate for it, unless theres multiple showmatches. tournaments and the likes. there wont be the need to push the extent of the units the furthest.
Hence you can advertise your mod all you want. But dont take the input from the few players who have played it as fact.
7 adepts at 5 minutes? immortal push with 2 immortals, prism, 4 sentries and 5 adepts comes at 5:10-5:20, if you cant defend just 7 adepts, sorry i have a bad news for you, but its clearly not adept problem
