I am diamond level 3 4v4 now, why is my team 1 silver + 1 gold + 1 platinum + me vs 3 diamonds + 1 master? (7 out of 10 games are like this), has no sense.
I created this topic because I have never found an official answer from Blizzard in 11 years of what the gameplay is like in 4v4 and why these game-killing differences occur. Never anything official. When you buy a game they come with instructions and rules for how to play it.
You’re probably getting stomped by a premade team. I would know because I sometimes to this lol - or it may be a genuine mismatch, which does happen frequently too
Top of 4 vs 4 ladder here. What you described happens for 2 reasons, and unfortunately neither your team nor the opposing team wants it this way.
Reason 1: You are up against a premade party. If you don’t want to be carrying glue-eaters, you have to get into a party no matter what league you are in. Make friends and join clans. Even the top random 4 vs 4 players play in parties of 3 in “random” 4 vs 4. Even if you get to masters league, you’ll still need to basically carry metal leaguers every game if you don’t play in a premade.
Reason 2: Match making sucks at times. Depending on what time of the day you play, sometimes match making does not have a lot of players, especially in masters league. Therefore, match making, after 6.5 minutes, matches a team that has been waiting for 6.5 minutes with another team no matter the MMR difference. Meaning it’s quite common for top masters players (there’s not enough other masters players to match against them) to be matched against diamonds or lower players.
The good news for you is that if you lose, you don’t lose a lot of div points or MMR, but if you win, you’ll be heavily rewarded. For your opponents, it’s quite often a different story. Sure they’ll win most of the time, but they’ll likely be getting 0 MMR and very little division points. If they lose, back to bronze they go XD. So it’s often a net loss situation when these games happen.
