I always play as Random Commander on Random Map (unless I somehow get 5 of the same commander, then I end up choosing but I digress).
In my matchmaking, the amount of Stetmann players are obviously fairly abundant at various skill levels. One thing, which to nobody’s surprise, is that at least 75% of them use Mecha Infestor. And I’d even go further in saying 95% of those are terrible at it. Now I am not judging their skill level but just objectively speaking based on the thousands and thousands of games I’ve played, as well as the players I’ve seen.
I hope Mecha Infestors get a revamp, I really really do. It’s just kind of boring to see your subpar Stetmann ally lagging behind trying to make 10 Mecha Infestors and pushing at again a subpar speed.
To give an example, recently on Malwarfar against Ling/Muta. Expansion can literally get half destroyed before Super Gary decide to take a chill stroll half a screen to the left to kill a wave of Lings. Or say cast enough Roach/Rav to actually push or defend (when I leave 6 Nova Tanks behind to help him out). Losing 3 to left over Muta because well (not enough cast).
This is just a simple yet all too typical scene I see on a daily basis. Again please don’t focus on the skill level but what the typical build is placing players into an idle mode of action. Setting the Stetlag aside (a story all on its own), the stagnant energy field all game, the inappropriate Overcharge (as it is all used on his Mecha Infestors sitting way way back). These are all markers in my opinion exemplifying just how this particular build fosters poor game play.
And as an aside, this unit is still imbalanced to the point that any player with some skills can solo push everything. As shown by many videos on Brutations or just Brutal games. Just ridiculous…
Congrats, you managed to make a post trumpeting your own ‘amazing’ skills and judgement while belittling those you play with… again… what a valuable contribution to the community!
If Stukov isn’t allowed to have Bunkers that negate a large chunk of Mutators, why is Stetmann allowed to have a level of free spam that Bunkers and Barracks together can’t even keep up with?
I’m still baffled how this ability was even allowed to breach QA, or even the most basic of testing.
Look, it’s not always going to be like this. I am a statistical gatherer in sc2, out of hobby really. And one thing any player that plays with a stet random will know, is that if you check their match history after your game, you will notice that 90-95% of the time, they are a “returning player”. Players who tend to come back only for a new commander, and the second they get the achievements for them or run through their usual 1-2month stay, they return to being what they are known for. This happens with EVERY NEW commander bar none. So the more you play the less you’ll be running into those cases.
I play roughly 10~20 games a day, no more, no less, and the chances for me to have a stet partner in random (which I play exclusively) is under 10% now.
I understand some players like to stick to social and forum/chat metas and public opinion, but you need to understand that the games policy and the governing companies rules and regulations come first. Even if you disagree with them, or with your bad luck with random players, at least you have a silver lining that things will gradually shift to the same safe space area you are used to in SC2.
We all love and play this game for our own reasons. Let’s not start playing blame games and shouting off at other players simply because they are playing the game in a way you seem to hate.
You’re playing random, by your own choice. You could improve your experience with groups/clans/friends but instead you choose to play the solo card. So what is it you are expecting or trying to get out of this? To us, the answer is obvious, ‘a rant’.
I mean, almost every part of your original post is about your skill level. A lot of it is kind of bragging. For example, there was no need to point out that you play with Random Commander on Random Map all the time.
Then you go on about how you find it boring to see a subpar ally lagging behind, pushing at subpar speeds. What is subpar? You’re definition and mine might be two completely different things.
The whole thing kind of read as a “git gud”, with a hint of “play it my way”. Most of your other posts seem to be along the same lines.
Perhaps stop acting so elite, which is what you are strongly coming across as, and people won’t be calling you out for it.
Yes because Co-op players play PvE to be challenged. Like really? Also don’t call people trolls for sharing their opinion. You justify your methodology and opinions by starting topics or initiating convos, yet call people trolls if they respond against your somewhat predictable posts.
In his defense, there is nothing wrong in saying what you prefer to play or how you go about it. But some of those little hints you leave here and there are actually mentioned in the policy and rules sections. I’ll leave this convo at that before you show your colors in darker shades.
Zerglings and Banelings cause lag for entirely different reasons. The CPU has to make SO MANY calculations every time a Mecha Zergling does just about anything.
Since we are so keen to take things out of context here.
Just for argument sake, even if I was bragging so what? I don’t like Mecha Infestors as they currently and that’s my opinion, expressed on a topic I created. Feel differently? Go post your opinion. What does being judgmental on me has to do with what I’m talking about here.
You have all of 6 posts, 2 of which are to flame on a conversation that didn’t involve you. I bet you are exactly the player I described. So yeah, git gud. What experience are speaking from with less than a200 level.
Wait so… you think when you post on a public forum that you have 0 say or control over it stipulates that you call the shots? I’m afraid your reasoning isn’t what’s considered common sense, so now you’re just making yourself look… sad tbh.
“git gud” and attempting to harass players. More like git gud with life. 200 levels in a co op mode? Really? Probably an American…
Try not to be the uneducated dense basement gamer that you are and open a book or two before “sharing your opinion” cause you’ll just make yourself look bad.
This isn’t some social media website where you can control your own post. You feel that bright glare coming off your monitor? It’s called reality.
Not really. The reason is still too many units. The same goes for regular zerling and banelings too, the first mission on Char in HotS campaign where you get 200+ supply of ling/bane is a proof.
I’m Yattien. 6 posts here is because this is a new forum. You’ll find it difficult to find older members of the forums who haven’t seen me around though. Jokingly considered a prophet at one point. So you’ll find post count in this new forum, were the post counts are basically reset, have nothing to do with anything.
Level? While also not an indication of skill, Mastery level 104. So not quite 200 but then again, I don’t play every single day. If I didn’t have breaks and stop playing for months at a time then I’d probably be a lot higher by now.
And yes, no one said you can’t create a topic expressing your opinion but layering it with bragging is something no one appreciates.
I’m going to stop now though. You’ve 3 people calling you out and you still can’t see the wood for the trees.
(Thanks also for pointing out that I’m actually posting on the wrong account)
Rather racially prejudice aren’t you. Just because you feel totally righteous about your misunderstanding of a single topic/post. Now all of a sudden “this guy must be American” huh?
How funny it’s apparently sharing opinion if you harass me. And it’s “uneducated dense basement gamer” if I try to get you to stick to topic - Mecha Infestors players lag game and isn’t a great gameplay by design.
@Yattien I know you are not new and agree this is meaningless. And I totally respect your decision here.
I have the typical heavy lag with Stukov and Kerrigan mass Zerglings. So I was expecting the same with Stetman and pretty much whatever.
I do get a minor fps drop, but nothing along the lines of Stukov/Kerrigan. This seems to be independent of what comp Stetman decides to go, whether hydra/ling or infestor; long term exposure to Stetmann provides plenty of both, heh heh, trust me.
I actually think it has to something to do with Stetelites, not other units, since the fps drop is early and consistent throughout the game.
