2v2, if your partner leaves the game early, does he still get mmr?

So I’ve played this 2v2, my partner leaves at the 19 min mark, he got just 2 engagements the whole game.
Basically I am playing 2v1 until the 41 min mark from that point, and manage to win vs Z and P. The only thing I built from my partner was, building a DS, and about 6-7 dts, so I can finally make a good defense.
So I understand he gets mmr from the win, right?

I am very happy we won, but it would be nice if we would play a normal 2v2. Not an extra crazy 22 min of attacking and defending.

So my questions are:
why do people quit so fast in 2v2?

do people should get mmr either way, even if they leave too early? My opinion is that they should be encouraged to stay in the game not leave too early.

did you had similar experience?
(It happened to me several times, early leave for me or for the opponent team)

I suggest there should be a reconnect button, so the partner can join back maybe it was just a disconnect.

Please let me know your opinions and your experience,
thank you and stay safe.

Few people like to keep playing a lost game,

maybe he misjudged the game state and thought you had no chance

Maybe you won EXACTLY because he left, so you had more income and army

Maybe he needed to poo

Yes, at least it was like that long ago and I don’t remember any change to it.

When I played 2v2 I noticed early leavers were just farmers, entering a lot of games, leaving every single of them, so eventually they could get some wins if the ally played those games.

Leaving later…maybe people don’t see the game is winnable, have to leave, or maybe they are leaving to let you controll al the stuff.

back in the day i used to win 1v3’s lol

and then message the other 2 players after saying “enjoy free win”

As someone that plays 2v2 RT as Random to just learn macro offraces and chilling, I will leave the following games

  1. Queuing into the same AT teams that are significantly better than my teammate and/or myself.
  2. Teammate doesn’t show the most basic competence and/or afk, like not building workers when not planning some kind of cheese.
  3. Annoying teammate that wouldn’t shut up.

Fortunately, out of all the games I’ve played this season I have only needed to leave once.
