1 FPS on lowest settings - on good PC

Hello,

Something is wrong with my SC2. I am having exactly 1 FPS!
Few months ago i was playing on BGH maps with 8 players, no units limit etc. and had always at least 60 FPS on ultra settings, even when i build hundreds of battlecrusiers.
I stopped playing for a while and tried to play again yesterday. Right now something weird happened and i have 20 FPS at start of the map and it goes down to 1 FPS when i bulid some SCV and 2 bulidings. I have switched settings to lowest possible, and it’s still 1 FPS.

It only happens in SC2, other games work perfectly.
PC specs:
I5-7600K
GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
16 GB RAM 3000MHz CL15

I already reinstalled game and graphic drivers and it didn’t solved issue.
Can You please help me?

check your internet connection. turn off all the prawn downloads and shut everyone else off using it. see if that helps.

yes, ping is really high, like 500ms.
On speedtests or in other games like CS i have ~20ms. Only starcraft has such high ping.
Do You know how can i solve it?

well to solve ping issue, switch your setting to your area that best fits you. what i really meant for you to check was not the ping but your actual download speeds, hence why i said turn off the prawn. also try avoiding having other programs anything that would use your graphics card rescourcs considering you only have a 1060. I know my 1070 seen fps issues when i was playing sc2 on while streaming to twitch as well as watching my freinds twitch streams.

Hmmm, i think that’s not the internet connection. I have checked 2 additional internet sources.

  1. switched to mobile hotspot
  2. connected to neighbors internet - he has 1GB/s fiber
    It’s still dropping to 1FPS/ 500ms ping.

Found old laptop and it’s same there - low FPS and high ping.

Checked on HWInfo and each CPU core usage is low.
GPU usage is also low.
Temps for CPU/GPU are ok - low

I do not run additional programs or overlays. I have closed every possible program before running SC2.
Is this possible that something is wrong with some of last patches or maybe SC2 servers are failing for EU locations?

well, considering there hasnt been a patch or update in over six months, probably not. as for your high ping, you need to switch to a more local server, you shouldnt be seeing 500ping unless your in antartica or trying to play american servers but in eu. your ping should be around 30 to 50 if your logging in to the right region.

I am playing on EU servers  Just posting on US forum, because Blizzard does not have technical support for Polish players and redirects to other forums.

I should have like 5 to 20 ping max. Other games, even blizzard ones like D4 are working perfectly. This is only SC2 issue.
It’s definitely not because of my internet connection. Even switching to neighbors 1Gb/s fiber internet didn’t solved issue.

Is there any chance that someone from Blizzard IT support will try to check this?

well thats cause there is only one forum, there isnt a seperate forum for region.

go to your region setting and check which server your connected to, you should have the option to choose what is best suited to your region. just because your playing on eu, doesn necessarilly mean you are playing on the closest. also while in game you can hit ( ctrl +f, or ctrl+alt+f) to see your ping and fps and the exact server you are connected to, there be a little black box in the upper left corner of the screen. And for example when i say you might not be on the best server, i mean that there are multiple per region ( ie na has na east, na west, na central.) even tho your playing on eu it might be matching you up with one of the farther away eu servers instead of closest. In region setting you can switch this to the one best suited for you.

As for the forums, Bliz isn’t supporting the US forums either. All support forums are now essentially player to player support. Just fyi.

Thank You Leviathan for information.

WKnight2 - Thanks to You too for trying to help me
I am connected to EU server.
Please see screenshot below  Maybe that will give You some data

i looked at your screen shot and your use of bandwidth is higher than mine. something is stealing your bandwidth. you have to figure out what that something is.
