This sh1t is unplayable, i have more than recommended specs, with 4,1 ghz oc cpu. And yet it is totally lagged. Crappy single core engine. You need 5ghz cpu, 4000mhz ram and latest gpu, so you have little bit fps boost… Still probably won’t go over 30 fps…
What is your GPU? You didn’t mention that.
Geforce 780 i7 3770 4.1ghz, 16 gb 1600 mhz ram. Game used to run better in hots i had 57-60 fps min. Nowadays i get drops under 30 in 1v1. They made game more demanding, but didn’t improve engine. Same happened in cs go. New geforce 2000 series at least 2080 provides huge fps boost before 1000 series supposedly from some benchmarks. And you need overclock cpu since this engine is single core, so only cpu freq matters. Also ram speed matters a lot. I will have 5ghz cpu and 4000mhz ram a while from now so i will test that. But it will probably still run like a crap. Crappy single core engine. All blizzard games have similar problem. People complained in diablo 3 on fps drops on high end pc, or in raid in wow, but that improved a bit, because wow is more popular. Noone cares about sc2. Buy 5ghz cpu and 4000mhz ram and geforce 2000 series min and maybe you can run that on 30 fps + blizzard is dogshi t…
I have a 3.4Ghz quad core i7 CPU, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB VRM GPU, 16GB of RAM, and I do not have these issues. I do not have these issues in CS:GO either. Are you sure there isn’t something that isn’t screwing up your performance? I hate to be that guy, but it works on my machine.
Edited, I had a brainfart and thought it was 8 core for some reason.
There is a lot of hardware configurations, it can run on some better, that is the thing. This game should run on geforce 750 without problems. But coop is laggy as hell for everyone. When i play everyone complains on fps. I even downloaded old hots version and run that and i had 60 fps min… I did firestrike and i have same score as other people with same hw and i can run bf1 on 55-60 fps on high/ultra. That game actually takes advantage of your pc and max gpu on 99%…
Everyone? I don’t know about everyone. It’s also an old game, and blizzard ain’t what they used to be. However, which OS are you using?
I ask every game, people say same thing… Windows 10, tried windows 7 and there was 0 difference. LOTV Is worse than hots in terms of performance…
You know that the game is synchronized on multiplayer, even to FPS to an extent, right? So if one person has really terrible performance, it’ll be bad for you as well. Same for versus and custom games. Are single player games this bad?
No if you have low fps, it has to render action of another player as well, before continue. So it creates high ping. But not fps. I was playing castle fight with people and got always lags, but they said they had yet fair fps. So no, it doesn’t reduce your fps, if someone has drops but makes game lag. I never had fps drops in hots in multiplayer ever !!!
I have played with people whose computers can’t handle Stukov. It affects everyone when their FPS goes low enough. But again, are single player games having this same issue? That would mean it is something wrong with the game, or potentially your configuration. But as the game is old, it is more likely the issue.
I am not sure, but i don’t think it can reduce your fps, only increase latency. I can test that with ai, but i think i already did that. There is nothing wrong with my configuration. As i said i never experienced fps drops in sc2, in hots, ever on much worse pc… I even talked with support long time and they didn’t help at all… Tried everything…
If another person’s computer can not keep up, synchronization between clients is harder to maintain, so it will cause latency/lag for you. You haven’t tried playing a single player game yet, preferably a custom game vs a bot so it’s using the LotV version of the game engine. However, if it just doesn’t work, is it possible to get a refund? Has it been too long already?
Yes long and how is refund solution anyways ? Even with ai i got drops to 45, which is relatively good, but ai build weird composition. Low amount of bannes. When zerg maxes on ling banne, it is insane… I just now remembered i tried even replays and got same fps 27 in lategame fight. And i must have tried vs ai in past already at some point. BUt now you have it again. I played this game on new computer and old and i had never problem in hots. Least i saw was like 57 fps in 200/200 vs 200/200. Now i have lags much sooner and i can’t play. I found out disabling hyperthreading improves fps a lot, although they are still crappy and this doesn’t work for arcade, or coop. There i have still 10 fps even 1 fps, where there is a lot of units… And there is nothing wrong with my pc. As i said, they made game more demanding in lotv, they tried improve visuals or something. But it runs still on direct 9 and doesn’t utilize multicore. My gpu is utilized like from 15% LOL
And i doubt blizzard will do anything, they had 10 years now. Maybe in sc3. I will have in march 5ghz cpu , 4k mhz ram and geforce 2070 super. So i am really interested how it will run…
Your system is getting old and will be due for an upgrade soon. As for your performance problem, it sounds like you need to clean out your caches.
ROFL… you are trolling. No computers are not getting old. Yes some transistors die off. But that performance degradation is so negligible it doesn’t have any real impact. Did you read my posts ? I said i had same score on firestrike like people with same hardware and i have 60 fps in bf1 on high/ultra… And no it is not cache problem, i already tried everything, even clean windows 7… Again i had no issues in hots, i even downloaded old hots version and i had no fps drops on that. They made game more demanding in lotv, but game engine didn’t improve. So you need 5ghz cpu and 4000mhz ram and new 2000 series gpus, which provide huge boost before 1000 series in sc 2 supposedly, so you can play this game, barely on 60fps min (because this game engine is so crappy, so you need supercomputer) , maybe even not that in 200/200 ling bane vs 200/200 marine marauder mine. YOu can’t even micro that…
No I am not trolling, and you didn’t even read my entire post because your ignorance stopped you at the first sentence. You could have the most badass rig on the planet and still get the same problem if you don’t clean out the caches.
I’d like to point out that the 770 is a pretty old GPU by now, and its fairly likely that a GPU upgrade would fix a lot of this issue-- it did for me. Its also likely that there’s other external things that could be affecting your FPS, but I’m doubting you’re gonna listen to what other people suggest.
For comparison, I’m running an Intel i5 9400, GTX 1660, 16 GB Ram. I can play both Stukov and Stetmann with absolutely zero FPS drops, and this rig is only about middle-of-the-road as far as gaming rigs go. The problem is more you and your hardware than the game itself, I can guarantee.
100-130 fps on i5 6400 2,7GHz, GTX 970, 16 Gb 2666.
150-180 fps on i9 9900 (downclocked) 4,5GHz, RTX 2080 Ti, 32 Gb 2933.
Frankly SC2 engine optimization is crap at best if not non-existent. I can almost certain it’s not a GPU issue in your case. SC2 does not need a lot of graphic horsepower. If you see your GPU is pinned at 99%, try to use HWinfo to see if your GPU is overheating and you may want to reapply thermal paste to your graphics card. But 3rd gen i7 at 4.1GHz is definitely not enough for Co-Op. I have a 3950X (which is comparable to a 9900K at stock in terms of single core ability) and I can drop to around 30FPS on some very complex scenarios. With even a 2700X (single core performance similar to 4th gen Core aka Haswell) you can experience below 10FPS, even though not very often. Also I suspect DDR3 is another issue: even if the CPU itself isn’t doing that badly, slower memory will also impede performance.
Wat ? I read that and no you aren’t supposed to upgrade, if you have more than recommended specs and years back like in 2016, wasn’t to what upgrade… Only 5ghz cpu and 4k ram… Which maybe doesn’t even get you 60 min on lowest…
I will have new computer for vr, but it is utter garbage. It is game engine’s fault. It doesn’t take advantage of multicore, so gpu is bottlenecked, my gpu runs at 15% in game… While game ran okay in hots. I have never had fps drops in hots. They made game more demanding with come lotv (it was some patch 4.6 or else, didn’t they want to make game better looking or something ? ). But engine is same trash… It barely handled hots.
What is more funny i even downloaded old hots version made work in single player and i have only drop like to 55 fps at 200/200 fight ling bane…. So there is proof it is engine. While in lotv with ai i have drops to 40 already or something, didn’t even tested with bannes.
You need 5ghz cpu and 4000mhz ram and maybe you can play on barely 60 min if even, when there is 200/200 fight with a lot of bannes, you just autolose…
Again there is a lot of hw configuration, it is possible it will run on some random computer with garbage gpu and cpu better. Because for this game even geforce 750 is more than enough… I have 4.1 ghz cpu and more than recommended specs, yet i get drops under 30.
They stupidly made game more demanding, while it run just about fine, so now you are forced to upgrade massively. I read many many post even from people with geforce 1080 and 4,1 ghz i7 and they said they have drops to 30. Only geforce 2000 series provides massive boost over 1000 series in sc2, but years… There was almost nothing you could do. Only get to 5ghz and 3200 mhz ram min and than maybe barely on 60 playable. It is so f2cking dumb !!!
All because blizzard didn’t upgrade engine to support multicore by 2020. Greedy bastards …
Disabling hyper threading boost fps massively, but there are still drops in lategame, it is far from playable…
Still coop is even worse, so i just can’t wait to see how it will run on this rig, because this game is utter garbage…
