At 12% it isn’t irrelevant, there is a decent distribution of tank play is what it’s indicative of. That’s average pick rate, nothing special. You want 2 tanks 35% each and 1 at 20% and the rest scattered with the remainder? Zarya and Ball are incredibly strong and her pick rate is right up there with Ball for that reason. Pick rates ebb and flow with the meta, monkey and Zarya is also strong with the new buffs.

Go by this month, major updates to tanks went live. 6 month average for picks isn’t usable. Would be if there weren’t buffs and nerfs to most of the tanks in 6 months.

Except the thing is people have been asking for zarya nerfs, for over a year now. This isn’t anything new.
This isn’t just because she just now became the top played tank.
This has BEEN occurring.
Right and the top 4 tanks have 53-56% winrate so she’s isn’t some crazy outlier in the tank category. If she was 60+ we’d have a clear issue, she’s picked more now because Ball and Wiston are better and Rein is better than he was. She plays well with all of them but doesn’t stand out as OP. She’s just a good OT right now in the balance. Sig and Orisa just don’t have the power in the game at the moment, if they did another OT would be selected since bubble doesn’t play well with grasp and orisa shield.
I don’t think more restrictions is the answer. Especially because the fact this isn’t the go-to could be an indication that there’s a reason one main and one off tank isn’t the top choice atm
