We don’t care how it works if it doesn’t work.

This is Blizzard we are talking about here. You literally can not take them at their word.

Otherwise we would have had more dev communication every time they say they will communicate more over the past few years.

Title is a double negative…

Maybe you should stop being such a bottom feeder and especially stop defending a multi billion dollar game dev that only see you as a metric.

They’re either lying then or they’re lying now. This new post contradicts a lot of the stuff they’ve told us in the past.

Its never been as obvious as how they’ve handled OW2. Basically don’t even bother treating us like people lately.

Yeah thats because they literally always have been deceptive about comp.
OW1 comp system was literally rigged to encourage purchasing alt accounts so they make more money

Gonna need the tin foil hat for all the conspiracy theories about matchmaking.

fixed it for you. there you go mr smartypants

I do t mind complaining actually, it can help improve a game.

But yes this is a far more than average toxic community. Points of view are taken personally and self-images are at stake, here apparently. And everybody knows everything about all things :stuck_out_tongue:

…I’ve often pointed out when a ‘blue’ posts on these forums the initial 5 or so posts are generally negative and/or non-constructive feedback and people wonder why the forums are rarely listened to…?

Hehe. What to expect? A lot of people still think covid was a conspiracy.
Especially in the US…
And this forum is full of Americans, so…

They literally contradict themselves in the same post.

They say your personal performance doesn’t affect your rating, then they say they determine which team is favored based on things like “gameplay mistakes” and “team coordination” – that is, not just wins and losses, but the way you play the game.

These two things cannot both be true.

you are reading this wrong. they are basically saying “we dont want ppl to worry about or farm stats bc they think its more important than actually playing together with your team and trying to play in a way that wins you the game”.

its amazing how bad ppl are at reading when they want to read something into it.

the ANTI-matchmakers are just sad that their conspiracy theories with matchmaking were proven to be wrong. the matchmaker is effective, and that’s that.

hope you’re happy with bobby yacht im sure he giving away his yacht to people who is brave enough to defend them on internet

Yes it can.

A DPS player with high damage because all they did was shoot the Tank and feed enemy Support ult.

vs.

A DPS player with high damage because they kept killing everyone and barely shooting the Tank.

I don’t care what they are “basically” saying, I care what they are actually saying. Here are the relevant quotes.

In Overwatch 2, your MMR adjustment after every match is not impacted by your performance in each match (regardless of your skill tier).

That’s a very clear statement.

Predictability is a measure of how likely the favored team is to win because two teams never have identical ratings. One team is always going to be slightly favorite for a variety of reasons: team coordination, gameplay mistakes, and new players who are trying out different roles and 30+ heroes. The result is that we get a little bit less signal to use to calibrate ratings. We’re working on some ways to use the signal we get more clearly, so stay tuned!

As I said, a total contradiction. If they use “gameplay mistakes” as a metric for matching you to a team, then your individual performance DOES affect your rating.
