No GPU on the market can maintain 360fps stable. I have a Nvidia 3090, 7700k @5.0Ghz, and RAM DDR4-4266MHz. With this I can just barely hold 240Hz stable. I hope OW2 has a lighter engine because the new 360Hz monitors have zero purpose for this game as it stands.
Edit: Turns out Overwatch can take advantage of more than 4 cores.
2bh, this game is too poorly optimized for both systems and competitive play. I was actually wondering if the engine was the reason why the original titan failed to deliver and we got this salvaged product.
That said, itâs more likely that the CPU is the bottleneck than GPU for this game, soâŚwell, get a server spec PC to play this I guess.
Iâve seen OW populating all of my 12 threads. Not only Overwatch makes good use of multiple cores, but itâs also one of the few games that can use virtual threads.
Well, one of the main reasons they put a â2â to this being a sequel instead of a DLC is that they were doing a major overhaul of the graphics engine. Hopefully itâll be better.
I assume youâre talking 1080p, in which case your cpu is actually the problem. That things 3.5+ years old now and despite decent clocks the ipc gains in that time have been significant. If youâve got the money for a 3090, no reason you shouldnât be upgrading your entire pc from that 7700 to actually make the most of the gpu.
