Why is nobody watching the OW2 beta?

Except for one Russian guy… who carried the viewcount for most of the day (he also NEVER plays Overwatch) why was nobody watching or interested this time?

Did it leave a sour taste in many peoples mouths after the first beta?

Peak view count (without the Russian guy) was 14k.

weren’t some of those big streamers supposed to be streaming? or do they have set days?

Because Blizzard told the player base, OW2 is for deathmatch wannabe pro’s.

i thought this was a joke then i actually looked at the player count and wow it really did drop off a cliff.

Because, at its core, the game is still Overwatch 1. Almost every hero has the same exact mechanics as in OW1. Tracer and Genji, for example, play exactly the same. There’s nothing new but three heroes and a couple of reworks. The novelty has already worn off.

Luck of marketing perhaps? I honestly don’t know why there are so many viewers on half of the games people are watching on twitch.

Because who wants to watch a paid beta with bad balance changes, and the advertised map Rio not even being in the map rotation lmao

Because we don’t want to watch the damn beta anymore. We want to play it. We’ve waited three years for content, and they want to sell it to us.

My guess is cause no one is actually able to play the beta unless they bought watchpoint :man_shrugging: everyone i know that clicked the sign up same day still have no invitation in the email

I’m glad that the “support a streamer” campaign was a total failure. Barely above average views 2 days after a new beta and hero release. Hopefully they won’t do this garbage again

Maybe people need to give more subs on their streams /s

OW2 Beta is a preview of how OW2 will be received, huge apathy and boredom. Only on this forum bubble we know what 5v5 changed but for most of people outside here, its just the same game with 2 less players per match.

Blizzard dammed themselves putting the “2” on the Title, they thought it was a genius PR stunt but they didnt have much content to show for. It was a bad Poker Bluff. So the sequel label didnt work and people are confused on what is the difference between OW1 and this OW “2”

Which leads to half the player base angry about why they are being sold a three week beta for a game they already bought, and the other half wondering why we’re mad we have to pay for a sequel.

  1. Because there is no big difference to the 1st Beta.
  2. Everybody plays new hero, and it is boring to watch
  3. Dps got their passive yoinked.
  4. Sojourn gameplay is boring to watch too, but nobody plays anything else, because you know, “hype”
  5. Ppl want to play themselves, not paying 40 for just 3 weeks of access, if they don’t need the rest from the pack, and I believe those are the most.
  6. Supports didn’t get any new toys.

If you find anyone plays 76, cree, Bap, Ashe or Widow only on stream ow2, let me know.
I only found Ans yesterday playing widow, but he doesn’t stream for that long.

Maybe, just maybe, folks like me would rather PLAY the game than watch someone play?

I like the new Brig skin but not enough to buy 3 Twitch subs. /shrugs

There is no tension, strategy, turn over like OW1; without CC, two tanks, barriers, the game is simply a TDM, an FPS with the same old heroes, the same old map (and the new ones, are shorts and nothing special). OW2 doesn’t have the tension of OW1 or a Battle Royal or a CS like game, is a pew pew and stop. This game can be the biggest failure for Blizzard to date, and what made me angry is that they want to remove OW1, a paid game replaced by a free game that i don’t like.

I think its funny how none of the big streamers (xQc, Asmongold) played the OW2 Beta yet although you can get the Brig skin from them.

Good Marketing :clown_face::clown_face:

What’s new is the cash shop and monetization scheme. OW2 is a re-monetization for the corporation, people.

It sounds like they’re desperate to get them back. Blizzard is driving by xQc’s house at 2am… “Boy, you up??” :red_car:
