That’s because you’re looking at it from a “me” only perspective. But you are failing to take into account that there are 11 other people in the game with you. If you are doing everything right, and there is someone on the enemy team doing everything right, it cancels out right? Then it is up to the other 5 people on each team that are going to influence the outcome one way or another.
“Forced” 50% win rate is not a thing. You will however naturally trend towards 50% because there is a thing called matchmaking that puts similarly skilled players together. As you win more games and move up the ranks, you will be matched with other players who are also more skilled until the skill levels even out. The same thing is also true in reverse.
I have 65-90% wr, untill I reach my rank, there I would have ±50% wr cause I am not doing more there than others can do at that rank, unless I improve and get better.
Why do you bother making this thread, writing multiple paragraphs instead of doing at least a little research? Or even think for 5 minutes. Seriously…
You do not understand how matchmaking works.
A forced 50/50 winrate, as you often hear it, literally means fair matches. It means that the matchmaker tries to put you with and against people at your exact skill level. The closer it matches you with others, the closer the winrate is to 50/50.
This does not mean that you will be matched with worse and against better people because you won 3 games. If you won 3 games you will be matched with and against better people because your SR is ~75 higher.
I get it, you’re probably young and don’t know much. But at least look for the other threads which you pointed out exist and see what reasonable people have written in there to debunk this idiotic nonsense.
But that is the falsehood that the entire argument relies on. Matchmaking hasn’t been able to put similarly skilled players together in a very long time now. Due to the deprived and almost dead playerbase, the games have drastically varying players in them by skills
The official description for SR is that it “follows your MMR”. That could mean a lot of things, but the simplest explanation is that MMR is your score under the hood (possibly also a composite score of some sort) and SR just kind of interpolates to it to provide a smoother view.
I just want to go back to playing on the PS4 account tied to this profile. Im bad at this game, but I am not this bad. On my other accounts… (except PC) i can hold gold and plat on most roles. This matchmaker takes this account and dropped me to Bronze…and I cant carry every game. Gold kills and damage no matter the role I play, and silver heals when i play soldier still doesnt get me a win. So if its performance based… Why do I drop. If its win based, i get it.
So either the MMR relies too heavily on my first couple of years playing this game in QP when I had no concept of team work and never played a DPS so I dont have the numbers on this account that the SR looks for…
I would also like to say. Im not bitter about this game. I still have a lot of fun playing it since the first time I touched itafter 5years. I have thought from the get go that almost all competitve ruleset changes have been bad. And that SR should be reset everyseason. And all players should start in bronze and work their way up. No placements.
I still say matchmaker gets a bad rap
for competive the only change I would make is to remove the sr limit of people you can que with and just say: if x player is in rank next to y player x player can play with y player
(let’s use gold as an example, if player x is gold and player y is gold that’s fine
its also fine if player y is silver or plat
but then it would be a gold silver game or gold plat
not a plat silver game)
It takes 15 seconds to respond to a post about a lie. If you let a lie exist without challenging it, which is what “forced 50% is” a lie, then that is how lies gain traction. I do not mind taking 15 seconds to point out that a lie is a lie.
I frequent the forums a lot, so when I see threads that are:
I like to add a post to curb the spread of the misinformation. If you just let an echo chamber persist and spread you will fool new players into actually believing the devs are just rigging matches when thats not true.
But if we’re gonna talk about people who have “nothing better to do with their lives” - why do you feel the need to track specific users and what they post and then complain about it? Why do you care how I spend my time?
