Bruh, the game is like a year old. This is a sequel.
OW2 was nothing but a huge downgrade and it was only created just to be a cash cow. itâs so silly how people still pay for this crap of a game. blizzard treats you all like bank accounts.
the game is free
free to play
I take issue with the OW2 haters because theyâre usually the same people who like to say itâs not a sequel. I think they need to pick one. It canât be the same enough game to not be considered a sequel but also different enough that they hate it.
I think the OW2 haters are OW haters.
Overwatch was great! Amazing even. A trailblazer in team based competitive shooters and to an extent eSports (even though owl kinda sucked).
Overwatch 2? Ow2 is just a pretender. Nothing that was promised for the sequel ever happened, 5v5 became the unfortunate norm, a handful of maps were removed because it wouldnât fit the 5v5 format. None of the existing roster got any new lore or cinematics or anything outside of the overwatch 2 announcement cinematic. The battle pass is not good, itâs literally sub par. The skin shop is super predatory and super expensive. A ton of heroes got their kits changed bc they wouldnât work in 5v5.
The overwatch universe and the characters and locations are so amazing, really, but thatâs it. The collabs arenât exciting, the new maps arenât exciting, the new skins arenât exciting. The soul that overwatch 1 had was ripped out and then replaced with a money printing machine and it shows.
I disagree, it was definitely not a sequel up until season 9. After that, all doubt was removed and I could finally get some closure.
uhm, does this mean you now think it IS a sequel, or you now think it ISNT a sequel?
I have accepted that Overwatch Dos is indeed a sequel. I stopped sarcastically putting the word âsequelâ in quotes which should demonstrate just how serious I am.
A lot has changed. Back when it launched, it truly was just a balance update in my opinion. You know, maybe it was a âsequelâ in the same way Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 was a âsequelâ to Marvel vs Capcom 3. But these days? Itâs just an entirely new game if I am being honest.
the game has become a total mess like ow2 seems severely masculine compared to ow1
I hate ow 2 bc its mostly dps buff while the rest gets leftovers or nerfs and that its not 6v6 anymore
OW1 basically allowed you to unlock all the skins in the game just by playing (earning âcurrencyâ). So, basically it was $40 for a chance to unlock all the skins. OW1 also stopped being updated at one point, because they werenât making much money from this business model.
OW2 lets you play for free, but makes you pay for pretty much all the skins. Most people hate OW2 just because of this. As someone that doesnât care about skins, and certainly doesnât care about having ALL the skins, I much prefer OW2. I also like 5v5 better than 6v6 (OW1 was 6v6).
I hate it because I know it can be better and want it to be better.
I donât hate OW. The people who enjoy 5v5 are the ones who hate OW.
Everything went to crap after the S9 changes, imo. Tank buff made it even worse, but S9 made tank horrible. All we needed was lower heals. They also wanted to make the game more accessible, but, itâs just too easy to do damage now.
People on mentioned there isnât any rewards. That does make the game feel pointless. Our progression system has no meaning.
thank you for the clarification
I still dont see it as a sequel, myself.
shrug.
wich dps passive? They were both useless.
Anyone who announced their deleting of the game and moving on even follow up on that?
Personally i dont hate overwatch, im just incredibly disappointed.
A sequel that not only doesnt live up to any of the hype it tried to build but actually brings into question why it even existed.
Some of the worst monitization i have seen. i mean jeez the mythic weapon is so over priced for what it actually is, and i know people will say but in other game its worse but thats a terrible argument. Its overpriced, end of story.
Terrible balance that seems to be based in the devs unwillingness to see that a change was bad. I mean so many issues could have been resolved faster if the devs said, oh that didnt work how we intended.
Its just sad more than anything. This was a game that was game of the year and when the sequel launched it wasnt even in the running.
Itâs just nowhere near as good as it used to be. Game has been dumbed down and packaged for kids who sniff glue sticks.
People hate on OW because most of us know what it can be but we have to settle for what it is at the moment.
