Why is genji the only hero that never get nerfs? We have seen so many changes in the game since it release. Devs has even changed a core system of the game that is armor. We have seen tanks getting reworked, nerfed, and also buffed. Basically all support heroes are in constantly modifications. Doomfist was a F-tier hero, then got buffs, and then nerfed.
But why is genji untouchable? Is this because he is the DPS hero with the highest pick rate since 2016? Well, I hope that’s not the reason, because mercy got nerfed when she was the most popular support too.
Then maybe he is not touched because he is balanced. Well if he is balanced then why exactly Doomfist wasn’t? The reasons why Doomfist got nerfs can easily be applied to genji.
he is strong but neither oppressive or overpowered in relation to the other dps heroes. Even so, he has gotten a few nerfs throughout the game. One of which just a few months ago (nerfing hitbox on his deflect).
He does need a nerf, he’s too easy to play for the results he gets.
But it’s not gonna happen. Deflect - extremely bad hitbox for ages. Brig shield bash - extremely bad hitbox, gets nerfed in weeks.
Genji is just the goldenboy of OW. He’s not gonna get nerfed. And it’s understandable, he’s a dps hero without fps mechanics (aim) but still takes skill. Blizz are proud how he turned out, and he’s picked a lot. Who cares if some people think he makes the game obnoxious or if there’s no hero in the game to make him switch.
Whoaa, 2 nerfs in almost 3 years! That’s a lot bro! How is he not dead with so many nerfs?? Wow!

Seems that genji players have to use “bug fix” as an argument.
Let just wait for the next hero that blizzard is going to give us in order to counter him. And we all know that it’s not going to end well. Brigittefeelings.
Here’s a brief list of genji buffs and nerfs during the years.
Nerfs: Animation cancel removed.
Blade time reduced by 2 seconds.
Edge boost removed.
Deflect size reduced.
Triple jump removed.
And some other stuff i forgot about.

The bigger question right now is WHY SHOULD HE be nerfed? Because you can’t even deal with him when we’re in the middle of goats meta? Then improve. You’re just bad. Genji isn’t a God.
As for doomfist nerfs, the reason is simple. Doomfist has higher mobility, higher survivability, He can oneshot with 3 different abilities in his kit, and every single ability of his is a CC.
Genji has not been meta for a while, even during the most recent dive meta where Doomfist mostly took his spot. Not to mention we have Triple Tank before that where he was useless. Same thing with GOATs now.
I dislike Genji, but he’s so easy to counter if you pay attention.
EDIT: Not that the meta means he’s weak or strong, just that there are better picks than him and he’s really not that strong.
It’s pretty toxic to just come to the forums and make random claims without even looking into things. Genji has been nerfed plenty in the past.
The only thing they should tune out of his kit is the dash reset on his ultimate activation. That way he couldn’t “waste” his first dash by jumping into the air only to get a free dive onto the enemies or pop blade when his dive is on CD, but the ultimate itself would be just as strong as it is when you get it going
Swift Strike: No longer deals damage to traps like Widowmaker’s Venom Mine or Junkrat’s Steel Trap; No longer bypasses Junkrat’s Steel Trap; No longer interrupts quick melee attack
Cyber Agility: Double jump no longer resets when wall climbing.
Dragonblade: Duration of Genji’s ultimate has been reduced from 8 seconds to 6 seconds

What WAS bugfixed on deflects nerf, was the fact that you could headshot him from head on while he WAS deflecting, that was intentional. But the deflect nerf was an INTENTIONAL nerf. Not a bugfix.
You have no idea what you are talking about by the way, look at all the disagreement, this is common knowledge and you need to make yourself privy to it ASAP. Also, pretty much literally EVERYTHING you said has been wrong in relation to genji, his winrates, and his effectiveness. He doesn’t need nerfs because he is balanced >.>

When will people understand that would be so much easier if Blizzard just nerf dive properly?
Genji is too strong - there’s no doubt about it. But he’s too popular and the devs have admitted they won’t nerf him because they’re afraid of the reaction.
