Why can hanzo 1 shot?

With apologies to Bob Marley and the Wailers.

“Spamming”
:musical_score: Ooh, yeah! All right!
We’re spammin’
I wanna spam it with you
We’re spammin’, spammin’
And I hope you like spammin’, too:

Ain’t no skill, We always try to wow, we can do it anyhow:
Walls I can see you through
‘Cos everyday we one-hit kill with little to no price
Spammin’ till the spam is through

We’re spamming’
To think that spammin’ was a thing of the Junkrat
We’re spammin’
Without this spam, Hanzo wouldn’t last.

No bullet can stop us now, we’ll evade or storm arrow them down;
No tanks can stand or barriers can hold.
We claim it’s all skill as we spam for a kill
Weeaboos think he’s gold. :musical_score:

this but unironically

I wouldn’t mind it if they lowered Hanzo’s damage to 120 per arrow. It’s basically a negligible difference 99% of the time, but Hanzo can no longer one-shot 250 HP heroes without armor. In other words, it’s more of a buff to Reaper and Mei than anything—heroes that need help.

A bow isn’t a sniper rifle, though. Games generally have fundamental differences between the two, such as bows doing significantly less damage, even on headshots, much lower fire rate, and a much shorter range. To compensate, those games generally make bows lighter, the user faster, and you generally have the ability to reuse arrows. Hanzo has all the strengths, none of the weaknesses.

Nice one ahahah

Lol doubt all you want, next time you play pick genji when you have a sniper and amaze yourself. Seeing is believing.

Sounds like you found a bug :stuck_out_tongue:

Because, what else are weeaboos and narcissistic sociopaths going play if he doesn’t? Genji?

Battle field 3 Gun: SKS. Two head shots to kill. It was a beast of a gun.

Mass Effect 1 doesn’t have headshot hitboxes. Although tbf most pistols could one shot enemies that didn’t have shields/barriers

I play Widow a lot. Widow requires a lot more skill than Hanzo, in every aspect of the game, period. She can’t kill people she can’t SEE (poison doesn’t count). Hanzo can. Do not conflate Hanzo with Widow. They’re not comparable at all.

Hanzo is classified as a sniper by overwatch. if you pick hanzo and widow, it says too many snipers.

Cuz he a sniper

<5 chars>

Ashe is not a sniper. ADS is not something exclusive to snipers. She uses something more similar to a hunting rifle, with a DMR damage profile.

Ana uses an actual sniper rifle, but uses drug darts instead of bullets.

The SKS is a semi-auto DMR, not a bolt action sniper rifle. All bolt action sniper rifles one shot kill in BF.

Because Hanzo fulfills the role of a sniper,

BBBUT WHAT IZ A SNIPER?

If you want a text book definition of a sniper in overwatch its this:

==============================================================

An offensive oriented character that deals 200 hp damage or higher to a single target through one precise critical shot without any intervention and from a range

==============================================================

Sniper its not an official category but that doesnt mean it doesnt hold any meaning (similar to how offtank and dive arent official categories either but they mean something to the overwatch population); for official I mean easily recognizable in the selection screen where as of currently theres only 3 categories -> offense, tanks and supports.

BBUT ANA IZ A SNIPER!

By the previous definition Ana is NOT a sniper, regardless of what lore says Ingame Ana only has high precision shots but she cant crit and her goal isnt to do damage, she is not played like a traditional sniper and she shouldnt be considered one, remember snipers are offense oriented characters that are able to deal 200 hp damage or higher to a single target through one precise critical shot without any intervention and from a range

Ana is just a support character with a highly precise weapon. She’s supposed to be versatile. She has the scope and hitscan (when zoomed) so she can heal at range, but she isn’t a replacement for a widow/hanzo. All things being equal an Anna going against a widow should pretty much always lose. Remember that she can’t headshot, that should tell you a lot about how she’s intended to be played. Long range chip damage is doable, but she’s a healing support character first and foremost. Not to mention the huge amount of time she spends shooting from hipfire.

BBUT ASHE IZ A SNIPER!

By the previous definition Ashe is NOT a sniper, close but no cigar… even though her kit borderlines on what a sniper is capable of her falloff and unassisted dmg output is not quite up there when compared to the other more capable and established snipers (Hanzo and Widow).

BBUT THE TOO MANY SNIPERS WARNING!

Yeah, there used to be a warning for too many builders as well, that prompt has proven to be heavily outdated and irrelevant in the long run and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

The “too many snipers” selection screen warning message was implemented years ago from the beta with the sole purpose to hint new players to be aware that the team composition might not be well rounded But you can ignore this and still win, players should take it for what it is, a mere suggestion. In that regard ana contributes towards the “too many snipers” warning because she requires high precision shots and is used at a distance like hanzo and widow but warns you that using many heroes like that can result in pathetic matches where theres not enough bodies in the objective.

I hope thats enough to clarify things *drops mic / thread

Hanzo should be brought into line. He should just be trash like Soldier 76 and Doomfist and Mercy.

/picks up mic

Your definition of sniper is something you just made up, so not text book. Oops.

/hands mic back.
