Why are the forums so restrictive?

Lets not sugarcoat this.

The issue is no otger furm system does this and if they do they’re and far rarer and much less active.

Really? I don’t play the game or frequent the forums anymore but I just looked and they still seem pretty active and there wasn’t massive spam or p0rn or anything like that despite allowing users to post fun memes and YouTube links and what not.

Also, I was not trying to be edgy with the zero there, you literally cannot even submit a post with that word in it, LOL.

Also I’ve been suspended more than once on the old forum so I doubt I would ever get a higher trust level.

Not being able to post even a link as a text is complete bs.
It just shows how much the moderation is lacking since they are trying to cover it with the most restrictive system possible.

Yet they were pretty quick to lock threads about Mercy not to long ago and redirect them to the “mega thread” of feedback after she went through multiple changes. :thinking:

Does no one really know how to post links? I thought it was available to everyone. Just use the </> button or indent four spaces beforehand.

It’s simple. It might work the same for images somehow, but I’m not sure.

I’m pretty sure that is intended to quote something. It also makes it NOT a link, just like putting a random space somewhere in the URL. I get that you can work around it to still sort of post a link that nobody can click on, but that’s really not the point – the point is that if you post a link the proper way (that people can click on) Blizzard blocks your post.

That’s how little faith they have in their moderation and community. I get that there are risks involved, but several other game forums have somehow managed to pull this off and Blizzard just did a full redesign and completely locked it down. That’s the point.

I think I’ve seen one guy post a link. You might be able to too cause he had around 700+ posts. Then again I think it was a link to another forum topic.

Dude if you post an opinion that is against the pop or PC, you get silenced. We got stuff all chance of links, pics, memes etc.

It would make these forums so much more organized and less of a trash bin that is every single thread buried within 2 minutes

Also sure it maybe standard, but most people I seen, post link, to gif as there response, like it a funny post, and not really needed in a setting like this.
