Why are people so miserable?

I have queued 13 games of quickplay in the past 2 days. There was 4 games where I dont think I played that well. There were 13 games where I either game hard flamed by 2 or more of the enemies and teammates. I won 10 of the games. People complained harder on wins too, I don’t understand. I also know theres going to be those who comment on this and say something along the lines of “its probably your fault if it happens that much”, and to that I say shame. To just queue unranked and be flamed, or take the other option and queue comp to have pure silence. Whats the point of having the communication system at this point. I would rather go play something else (so I am) than play overwatch in its current player state. Yes theres a lot of issues with the core game but I think a huge issue lies with us the players. You can’t play for fun anymore because the meta is never shaken up past 4 different heroes, so everything is just copy paste for easy wins. If you do try to play for fun and I choose genji, or ball, or lucio(reddit lucio) then youre bombarded with insults from every direction. Its not fun and I’m curious what you guys Think.

lol this option sounds heavenly

I think the miserable portion of the playerbase is just so vocal and everyone who’s grown tired of them just avoids chat.

They deleted our game and replaced it with a shop.

Very much this :point_up_2:

Toxic people need an audience.

A lot of other people are sick of listening to them, and eventually it reaches a point where a lot of players have chat off even though toxic players are a small percentage of the playerbase.

Yea I’m the type to not play ranked if I’m not in voice but have no issues leaving if things are annoying me. Honestly, it’s rare to me. I avoid QP and play in higher ranked lobbies and people are either chill or not there lol

Our? We never owned it.

I still have access and the game plays alright. If you’re only getting the shop, you might have a bug…

As a general rule in life when you need to resort to obscure legal arguments you’re not morally correct.

It was never obscure. It was in plain English. It’s a pretty standard thing with modern digital media.

It’s why I buy physical copies of things when ever I can. At least then I can have it taken away

Turning off all in game-chat is the answer. Makes the game more enjoyable, sadly. Also makes it lonelier, but it is what it is. The trade-off is worth it, easily imo.

OW comms didn’t use to be this way back in OW1. Can’t really gauge when things changed, but here we are.

Kinda tragic, but its the community’s karma imo. We’re reaping what we sowed :slightly_frowning_face:

My favorite is when there are like 3 people in chat, one friendly, one becomes toxic. I imagine, as I leave chat, the friendly one is like “man why you gotta be like this” to the toxic one lol

Nobody, not a single soul, ever said “I’m buying access to Overwatch.”

They just said “I’m buying Overwatch.”

Go away.

Ownership is a concept most people don’t really understand in this digital age.

Saying no one bought access overwatch isn’t wrong. They just all have no clue what they’re actually buying, cause access is literally all they bought.

Welcome to the information age, where most everyone is misinformed :slightly_frowning_face:

100% agree. Doesn’t mean people should be or were ignorant.

Anyone who read it terms, or has a base understanding of digital markets knows you aren’t buying the item.

Remember. Always by physical media where you can. Support the shops and artists directly.

Sadly true. But mostly because people don’t want to learn and keep up.

That’s nice. Don’t care.

You know what my original post meant and I’m not interested in arguing some irrelevant semantics with you. They deleted Overwatch 1 despite half the playerbase not wanting OW2. Now people act surprised that so many hate the current game.

‘Dave, we’ve talked about this’…

“Why are you the way that you are?”

Fair. But semantics are important, and lead to better understanding.

Based on the reactions at the time. The player base very much wanted OW2.

Some just aren’t happy with how it’s turned out. which is fair enough.

True. But we wanted the OW2 we were promised, not the one we got. It’s kind of understandable why people may not be happy.

Hence this bit.

Personally. I play ow for PvP, so the PvE wasn’t going to bother me if it turned up or not.

Do I think the PvP is hitting the mark… Not often enough. But the pieces are there, so maybe they’ll nail it eventually.
