(In the case of Titanium, anyway) It’s because they provide well written posts that people agree with.
Pretty much, I’d say. I mean I’m a regular poster on these forums and trust level 3 for a long time but you don’t see me being called famous lol.
You’re famous to me, love.
At least you aren’t infamous xD.
You’ll be famous too…if you join Talon
It requires a good number of related, high visibility posts in multiple high visibility threads. A distinctive yet easily pronounced username also helps, as does never changing your forum icon (looking at you, GreyFalcon).
There are so many ! JellyandJam, SunsetHippo, Nevermore, Reaper, WyomingMyst, and Somvra are just a few!
There really is no “right way” to become a “forum celebrity” as it’s a bit at random, but if you constantly post things on topics that somehow catches the attention of others and then make a name, they remember. Positive posts get a lot more attention c:
I think there are only a few famous people in the positive sense.
There are a whole lot of infamous people, and some with a niche.
For people who follow the Mercy debates i could list a number of famous/infamous people on both sides of the pro/con Mercy sides: Titanium, xavvypls, QuizzyBunny, GreyFalcon, Hige, Mitrovarr, MegaLopunny, RosenAria, Undertone, Rocktopus, Sprinkles, Ginger, James, etc.
People who post a lot or contrary to the overall tone …
Not only do I recognize you, but I stopped to see what you’d say when I saw that icon pop up in the ‘‘replying’’ section.
(yes, I also tend to remember icons)
Reaper. Always Reaper.
Titanium, Aria Rose, JellyandJam, xavypls, Nevermore, Lithy and DarthVador.
Then you have the irrelevants who always bring up Aria in almost every Mercy thread even though they clearly dislike her. Feel like it’s Stockholm Syndrome.
Because more and more of them dont like the state of the game they once loved to play. After 2 years that can happen just sad how it happens.
There’s nothing ‘infamous’ in posting about something that isn’t necessarily positive. There’s nothing wrong with sharing your opinions on a hero and providing constructive criticism. Nothing infamous about it.
I think of Jellyandjam as one of them, who is just a very positive voice on the forums and gets a lot of credit for it, Titanium who makes detailed posts on Mercy that get really popular and then gets banned (lol censorship is a great idea), and a tank main that ended up quitting Overwatch after playing since open beta due to glitches and the ignoring of main tank players while making their role mandatory and the worst in the game to play, though I’ve forgotten his name.
RichC?
JellyandJam and the whole Brigitte Spaghetti Movement is getting attention

I think so. Rip RichC
