So on these OW forums, I see people who appear to simply be, well, basically celebrities here.
How’d this happen? Was it from the game? The forums? I’m genuinely confused.

I’ve seen people called “DarthWinston” “Titanium” and some others that just seem to be noticed A LOT.

It just sort of happens. Some posters make videos. Some just have really likeable personalities. All of them tend to post a lot however.

Basically, the more famous people on here are the ones who post regularly. JellyandJam, for example, is a regular on the forums (10,000+ posts). Their posts are generally very positive, which is pretty rare for the OW forums.
Then you have the Hero main represenatives who represent a hero’s player base and their position on the game. Terranguard, for example, kinda represents the Bastion mains, there probably 10+ different represenatives for Mercy, Fragehart and RichC lead the Rein mains (RichC quit some time ago), NiceGenji for Doomfist, etc.
Then you’ve got the meme posters who post really fun stuff. Nevermore, one of the "Reaper"s, etc.
And then you’ve got the, uh, controversial forum goers, who are famous for being biased and confrontational.

Well, there’s RichC, he was an inspiration to tank mains all over these forums, but after the constant neglect of Reinhardt’s bugs, he felt it was time to move on.
Then you have JellyandJam, and even though they don’t play Overwatch anymore, they’re still here and periodically advertise whatever game they’re currently interested in. They love to keep the community positive.
Then there’s Ivan, creator of the “Overmoji Café” which is awesome!
Those are the only ones I really know about.
