Who do you main, and why?

Right, I forgot for a second I was talking to someone on the forums. Christ you guys are so randomly delulu it hurts. I get the feeling youre victim to Forum Syndrome, which is where you see one type of post so often it just pisses you off now and it gets you vindictive.

Legit right until GOATS hit, people loved Genji and thought he took skill, and then Blizzard ruined him by lowering the skill floor a bunch without addressing why we cry about how weak he is. This is unarguable fact.

Genji is one of the least changed heroes in this game, only receiving changes in one patch on 2016, 3 entire changes in 2017, 2 entire changes in 2018, and literally a singular change in 2019. In the span of 4 years he saw 9 total changes. 48 months. 9 changes. Yet he was only ever meta in Dive.

Stop correlating the crying forum posts with reality and use your brain. Youre Diamond, you arent supposed to have takes this unbelievably delulu and bronzie

Tank and OVERALL: Doomfist.

My first ever anime at the age of 5 was Dragon Ball Z. Watched the whole thing and kept trying to copy Goku’s Kamehameha and other moves in photo poses, playing with friends outside etc.

Still my favourite anime present day and his playstyle is as if he’s a character from Dragon Ball Z because of his charged punch, meteor strike, slam, block, uppercut and meteor strike. The Rocket punch feels like a normal dragonball smack type punch. Charged punch from OW1 or Empowered punch from OW2 feels like a Kamehameha and Meteor Strike is like one of those teleportation SMASHES to the ground or through a mountain or something. Also he’s a Nigerian just like me.

DPS: Genji - Feels like he’s a character right out of Naruto (in my top 5 favourite animes) with both his backstory and gameplay.

Support: Baptiste - Lore and backstory as well as multiple ways to play him. You can be a healbot, a DPS or the perfect inbetween.

You really do love Genji don’t you? To the point you’re upset I pointed out he has been meta so many times, and was used almost all the time. They nerfed him because they go pick and win rates, and at that time, he was massively overperforming and winning.

Missed the summer I think 18 or 19 buffs, where he got like 5 in one go. 3 direct buffs and 2 nerfs to his counters.

You are one really weird person to get this upset over actual facts.

i cant argue with that one since the last new hero

ā€œwhat can i say except you’re welcomeā€ dude

i dont really have any set main but ig in terms of playtime and winrate it’d be Junker Queen, Echo, nd Ana (I don’t really play support anymore)

Lucio. Because I always end up playing the bard.

But play pretty much all the support cast except Mercy.

I tend to play different characters depending on mood, but my comfort pick and main in OW1 is Pharah.

My reason for that is very simple: I like being in the sky because I really enjoy the different view of the battlefield and map as a whole that it offers.

Kiriko is my second-most played and the hero I’m second best at behind Pharah. I enjoy her dueling potential and the fact that I can do something about the anti effect. I’ve been playing her a lot less recently because I just enjoy different things.

That being said, I tend to play heroes like Lucio and Zen a lot because I find them fun. I’ll play Sym and Mei as well. Honestly, I just enjoy projectile heroes. They’re far more satisfying to land shots with and each one brings their own unique feel.

The only hitscan I’ll play is Sombra, mostly because I enjoy being able to choose when I engage, and Widow because I enjoy being bad at something, I guess.

Did we just become best friends?

I’m a D.Va tank / Kiriko support guy myself. I also want to main Sombra on DPS but don’t always get the chance to play her. I just find I’m more effective o other characters quite frequently.

I don’t have a main but a very interesting thing I discovered looking through my stats… Since 2016 and with over 2000 hours played, I’ve accumulated just 5 hours on Junkrat … That’s 0.25% of my playtime or roughly 1 in every 400 games! Obviously never quite clicked with him. At least I’ve still got a lot to learn in the game!

Ana because she’s the most one-trickable hero in the game

Also because she’s fun in general, but it’s honestly more about the one-tricking.

Reinhardt 'till the end of time. I just can’t let him down, I just can’t…

Also, he’s pretty fun, even though he hasn’t had a meta since OW2.

Tank
Zarya and D.Va.
I don’t play much tank in OW2 because I played supporting tank in OW1. The one-tank-life is painful for me so I avoid it.

DPS
Sombra, Mei, Echo
Mei was the first character I used and I have generally enjoyed playing as her the whole time. Sombra came out as I was really getting into Overwatch. I just dabbled before. I saw her launch as an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new character and, while everyone else on the planet hates her, I’ve always enjoyed using her as a supporting DPS. Echo reminds me of Mega Man.

Support
Kiriko, Lucio, Brigitte
I’m not a huge fan of Kiriko’s character but I like her abilities and how she plays. Lucio was the other first character I played and who got me interested in the game. Brig is a comfort pick for when I feel things are difficult.

Dependind of roles :

Tanks :
Dva : my type of gamestyle : harras, fall back, protect, kill
Sigma : same as Dva, with a shield and some chill gameplay
Junkerqueen : Love her abilities ^^

DPS :
Genji : Stylish and viewtiful gameplay, hard to learn hard to master, but the reward is something
Sombra : Hack is a weapon and I love to harras my opponent ^^
Reaper : Two shotgun to destroy big guys !!!
Ashe : Hitscan with more offensive gameplay

Support :
Moira : Always playing with her limit and surviving
Illari and Kiriko : same as Moira, with more damage

same here m8, which is why i stopped playing OW entirely. although when he had 29 he was fine. OW2, they blew it by adding the dps passive speed which made him overtuned, then they hard nerfed him and not the problem that overtuned him, but left sojourn alone and shes still perma meta haha.

i knew he was doomed especially for this game once that new funny card balance lead Alec came along and i remember distinctively how his balance direction would be and i knew it’d be the end for genji’s balance. Also one of these most egregious takes is the main reason why some of yalls heroes are left to the dust and others get heavily favored:

Lifeweaver. I just think flowers are neat!

But also, I play with a group the majority of the time, and his platform and lifegrip are so incredibly impactful with a little bit of communication. Not to mention I actually like that they added another support that has less of a dps focus. Sure he isn’t an AMAZING pick because it that, but it does mean I can enable my other support to be more aggressive.

Moira. Fluid and fun. Almost entirely reflex with some slight forward planning, and map knowledge.

DPS: Tracer. I fell in love with Tracer’s personality immediately but couldn’t play her to save my life, so I made an alt just to learn her. She ended up becoming my main.

Support: Illari. She’s like a mix between Tracer, Sojourn and Bap. Her kit was love at first match for me.

Tank: D.Va/JQ. Just two radical tanks who are endlessly fun. If I had to choose one…maybe D.Va because I love mobility.

Zen, Because I despise Genji. Learning to dunk on Genji with both my attacks and ult brings me so much joy.
