Where are the support players?

It sounds like them calling out a real problem to me in a humorous way.

Where are the support players?

Playing the role Blizzard cares more about, aka DPS.

Wdym they nerfed Bapā€™s damage? Iā€™m pretty sure they buffed the max damage per bullet from 24 to 25, and they pushed out the range where his damage falloff starts actually, the falloff range change was a reversion from a nerf in beta 1, so the falloff range is unchanged compared to the final OW1 state.

I am not a support player nor I give a single crap about Kiriko.

What problem is OP calling out, though? They havenā€™t engaged with any possible reasons why the support queue is small, they just keep insisting that people should start queuing support.

It isnā€™t like people donā€™t know what the problem is

yes. bap was nerfed some time ago and never actually unnerfed. so whatever youā€™re speaking of is astronomically insignificant.

In your problem rests your solution. Queue support and play it as a dps. Kiriko is pretty strong and near un-killable if you play smartly. And your queue time will be instantaneousā€¦though youā€™ll have to get used to a constant sting of backfill after backfill.

Personally, I loooove playing support in this crazy game. Though the trend of everyone crying for heals is cracking me up a little. What happened to all their mechanical skills I often wonder. What happened to their carry potential, their game sense, their agency? Are they just being bested and looking for someone to blame? Or did they lack skills in the first place?

He got buffed in the beta so his free AoE heal ability is instant and then heal over time. And thatā€™s what we have.

They nerfed his damage a long time ago because he was overpowered before OW1.

Heā€™s still OP in OW2.

I melt Pharah in 3 taps, maybe two if i get HS

I donā€™t mind the damage, itā€™s the fact that on top of the pretty decent damage, he has AoE heals, a free AoE ability thatā€™s corny and instant, and then immortality field and AMP matrixā€¦with vertical mobility.

homie got too much and somehow still manages to not be good in most metas simply because theyā€™re not clumped together.

Only gonna re-install the game and queue for support when they deliver the full game they announced in 2019 and not this pvp beta with a store slapped on top.

he wasnā€™t overpowered. i was overpowered. which is to be expected. since i only played bap. a valid factor devs overlooked. bap was introduced season 18. i touched bap season 20. after lasering hundreds of players and many seasons later, then bap gets nerf. bap didnā€™t get popular until season 25. which i helped to make happen by playing bap exclusively. bap introduced in season 18, but not popular until season 25 = not over powered.

I see that in Oct 2020, Baptisteā€™s damage was reduced from 25 to 24 while his recovery time on the primary fire was also reduced from 0.45 to 0.38s. There was a brief period of time from Nov 2019 to Jan 2020 where his primary fire recovery was at 0.36s before being reverted to 0.45s. I donā€™t see any other changes in the OW1 patch history that affect his damage output, except for a buff in the same Nov 2019 patch that increased the range where his falloff starts from 20 to 25m.

It looks like the falloff change mentioned in the pre-launch patch notes was a reversion to a nerf from an earlier beta, so thatā€™s still at 25m, and the damage has been increased back to 25. Unless thereā€™s something Iā€™m missing, it looks to me like Bapā€™s damage is functionally equal to the strongest damage heā€™s ever had. The recovery was 0.02s faster in that Nov 2019 - Jan 2020 period, but that seems like an extremely negligible difference.

So, what is it that got nerfed and was never un-nerfed? And, how is the per-bullet damage returning to its highest-ever value of 25 ā€œastronomically insignificantā€?

Thatā€™s exactly why he got all of those buffs, though. OW2 just doesnā€™t play as clumped, even with rush comps.

I want support with grenades launcher, some of junkrat brotheršŸ‘½

Sorry man, supports are really boring and I couldnā€™t care less about battle pass xp.

Why should I play support?

Maybe itā€™s time to change the flex queue rewards

Yeah, I donā€™t know what they mean either. Right now Bap can dish out up to 130 DPS (bodyshots) up to 25m. The only time heā€™s been deadlier was back in Nov 2019, where he was given 134 DPS, considered OP and nerfed a couple months later. He feels pretty damn strong, even with my crappy aim.

if you genuinely believe that there was only a 1% differential regarding his nerf / adjustment then you didnā€™t play bap. for example. in workshop chamber, increase baps damage to 120% - 130%. then shoot at friends. then youā€™ll see what was more of his native original damage output as introduced. which wouldā€™ve been the equivalent of 100% back then. i havenā€™t found anyone whose tried it and disagreed.

As a support main Iā€™m playing support.

I turn off chat and voice though because Iā€™m sick of being blamed for not healing enough even though I have more damage and healing than the rest of the supports in the game.

Donā€™t know where this sudden animosity towards support players came from, but itā€™s really irritating.
